But what's it like when it's split and grilled, topped with grainy mustard, pickle relish, chopped onions and sauerkraut, and served in a toasted, split-top bun -- the only way a hot dog should be cooked and eaten?

Last time I was in Costco here in Brick, they were still selling Hebrew National at the food court and in the store. Is it a national changeover????

The changeover was due to the dwindling supply of Kosher cows.

I believe in Hot Dog power centers, they are continuing with the Hebrew National; the rest of the country gets Kirkland. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

mar52 The changeover was due to the dwindling supply of Kosher cows. Are you kidding? Where I live there's a whole herd of them. Weird looking cows, they are. No back ends. I wonder how they swish the flys away in summer.

Maybe in areas without a sizeable Jewish population they would sell more by branding them Kirkland??

PNWCHEF And we all know Chewy, you know a good dog when you see one........What did they replace Hebrew National with when they stopped selling them ????????///////////// They still carry the Hebrew National brand, for how long who knows? The Kirkland brand is actually more expensive, hard to figure that, except to think superior quality.

Chewy, I just called on getting some Black Angus calves for my pasture. Last year at this time I paid $1.10 lb, this year they are $1.47. The two cows I bought for $900, and now worth about $3200. I think we are going to see beef prices going higher soon...........PNWC

Sitting here wondering why Costco would name its hot dogs after its hometown causes me to worry about the thoughts that run through my alleged mind.

Allowing thoughts about why anyone would name a pastry after a guy who's been hanged must be one of the main reasons I don't get much work done.
