Hello!

We all love cotton candy, don't we?!?!

Does anyone have a recipe to make cotton candy (using a home cotton candy machine that's available at most department stores)? The usual equipment (commercial machine, specially-produced flossine mixes, and packaging [usually paper cones inside clear plastic bags]) do cost a small fortune. I'd like to start making my own here...

How about sugar-free cotton candy (using Splenda instead of the usual sugar)—would y'all go for that?!?!

You say what's the point about sugar-free cotton candy?!?! It could be made from flavored flossine concentrate and Splenda sweetener (that's made from sugar, but without the calories) mixed together, and spun in a cotton candy machine. I'd bet that it would taste delicious! You just follow the directions on the can for regular cotton candy, but substitute the sugar with Splenda.

      Thank You!

Splenda doesn't melt like sugar does.

I wish I could eat CC without getting sticky fingers.

Do you all love squooshing it to a compressed little glob?

          Hello, Mar52!
Did you try doing sugar-free cotton candy with Splenda yet?! I think it's still doable... How about a reduced-sugar cotton candy (½ sugar + ½ Splenda)—would that work better?! Just use slightly a bit more flavored flossine. Thank You!

Walmart regularly has cotton candy and it is in several flavors. I like thir berry and bubble gum. It is fresh and tasy.

Could splenda or any of the sugar substitutes replicate the spun sugar of cotton candy? Does not seem possible to me.

Sounds like someones investigating an idea, yet not researching the science behind it (chemical makeup of the sugars along with their breakdown characteristics).. I give him credit for thinking of it! Feasable and edible, probably not... But then ya never know... (OH, then there's always the cost of the product)...

Hello again! It's been a while...

Using a cotton candy machine, crystallized flavored/colored flossine, and Splenda (either all Splenda, or a blenda of Splenda and white sugar), making sugar-free (or low-sugar) cotton candy should be easy!!

Would you know of any places to pick up flavored/colored flossine?! You may now pick up a decent home model cotton candy machine at most department stores.
