Cozy Corner. Memphis,TN

Here is what Michael Stern wrote about Cozy Corner and after last week I agree 100%.
"Cozy Corner - Memphis , TN
If you have time for just one barbecue meal in Memphis (or anywhere on earth), go to Cozy Corner, one of the South's great barbecue parlors. Get the barbecued Cornish hen, or barbecued anything! And have barbecue spaghetti on the side."
Last week I needed a fast lunch while passing through Memphis and Cozy Corner which is only 2 minutes off of I-40 more than filled the bill. The young lady working the counter could tell we were newbies and asked all the right questions. Hot,Medium,or Mild sauce? Slaw on those sandwiches? Sauced or dry ribs? Have you ever tried BBQ Spaghetti?  We were in for a treat. The ribs were just like I like them, not falling off the bone but the meat didnt need much coaxing.Sooo tender and the hot BBQ sauce was perfect on them. The BBQ spaghetti was a very pleasant surprise. The sauce is what makes the dish, its very spice and seemed to be a little different than the hot or medium sauces that we tasted on our meat. The BBQ baloney sandwich should have its own thread. I wasnt expecting such big smokey flavor from lunch meat. I had it with medium sauce and slaw on top. I was still craving another one when I hit Little Rock.

    I agree
A big yes for the BBQ Cornish Game hen and BBQ Bologna

I didn't care for their bbq spaghetti, I've had better at Interstate, Neely's and
    A & R

Same thing with their pulled pork Sandwich...It's been a while since I've had it but I don't recall being overly impressed

    WJ,

The last time I was there was with you.  My favorite memory of the place was when  Elvis Presley's cousin came in with his guitar.

I agree the BBQ Spaghetti, and the Pulled Pork at A&R are a little better than Cozy Corner's, but those Game Hens are fantastic!

I like the spicy slaw at A&R as well.

Was just in Memphis but ran out of time for Cozy Corner -- went to Interstate and Rendezvous. If only it was open on Sunday ... next time ...

I thought the pulled pork sandwich at A & R was ok. Neely's was much better and Payne's (the location on Lamar not the ripoff on Elvis Presley) was orgasmic.

Admittedly, it has been a few years, but Cozy Corner is still the best I have ever had in Memphis.

I agree with Buffetbuster; Cozy Corner is a must stop while in Memphis. Arguably the world's greatest living blues bass player, Bob Stroger was with our group for his first visit. I talked him into his first BBQ Bologna. He loved it and now whenever we see each other, he calls me "BBQ Bologna". Like BBQ sauce on my shirt, I wear it proudly.

I agree that the Cozy Corner is one of the best joints in Memphis.  The last time I was there was probably the best.  Why?  The barbecued chicken wings!  That much pleasure usually requires taking a shower afterwards.

I was there a few years ago, I thought the Pulled Pork was at best average to poor.

As documented elsewhere, we visited Cozy Corner during the Roadfood bus tour back in October and it was still spectacular as ever.  The ribs, pulled pork, Cornish game hen were all stellar, but the surprise for me was that the bbq sausage sandwich ChiTownDiner ordered was fantastic, too.
