So today my friends and I was eating popcorn, and someone mentioned cracker jack and the prize. Whatever happened to cracker jack? is anyone still eating that?

I had some a few years ago. Oddly enough a sandwich place near the courthouses in Boston included it with a sandwich on a special. Two big issues: (1) no more box, but a foil bag, and (2) the prize was actually a piece of paper (I think it was an offer to mail for something stupid).

But the Cracker Jack was pretty good.

Cracker Jack is very much around. No more boxes, though. Now it comes in bags, and the sailor has a new suit.

I still see it, and sometimes buy it, in the box.

Frito Lay says they no longer have it in boxes.

The ones we buy do for sure...if you can call them a prize....a SURprize may be a misnomer...

For what it is worth, I've seen the boxes in the store within the past week. (sorry can't remember which store...Safeway,maybe?!)
