Crackers or Cornbread?

Or I guess any other kind of bread. I prefer a thick peace of Northern-style sweet cornbread dripping with butter, especially if the chili (w/beans & meat) is hot! (Washed down with cold milk)!

With my chili, I like a healthy dose of diced onions, little sharp cheddar and a cold brew...
Oh ya, no crackers or cornbread needed... Unless the chili is that bad that it needs some doctoring..

I love sweet cornbread with chili. Somehow, it provides a nice contrast to the spicy chili.

    Hello All,
I prefer a just warmed, flour tortilla with chili. If not that, then a
home-made (and I mean, home-made) roll or bread.
Have put in tortilla chips (not doritos type, but plain with no spices on them)
and they worked find. Crackers only in Wendy's chili.
    Take Care,

Premium brand multigrain saltines-- on the side, not in the chili. And a Diet Coke with lots of ice.

I have always enjoyed my chili with Tennessee fried cornbread made with onions, peppers, Mexican corn, small amount of sugar, couple of eggs, canola oil and some milk. I cook it in a cast iron preheated pan with oil in it. I baked the corn bread at 450F for about 45 minutes. I like it dark and with a thick crust.

It comes out with a thick crust and I cover it with chili when available. No chili? No problems as I cover it with butter and enjoy the bread.

For Gods sake no darn milk with your chili!!! What is wrong with you people? When preparing my chili I always use a can of beer as a primary ingredient (instead of water). If you have not tried beer you should when you prepare your next batch. You will love it. Use a little bit of Texas Pete hot sauce and top it off with plenty of ice cold beer & you are in chili heaven.

I prefer crackers with my chili. It it's soupy, I'll crumble the crackers into it. Of course, if it's soupy someone else made it.

Oh, how wonderful it is to be watching the snow come down hard. I just hope it keeps coming.
