Crisfield Md

I used to go to the Crisfield seafood festival and a giant fried chicken festival there also. Said they had the largest cast-iron pan in the world it was huge. My question is this there used to be a place downtown Crisfield by the docks that had crabcakes. I went there once and told the lady that waited on me I wanted a crabcake sandwich, she said ours are world famous and proceeded to pull a binder out to show me the awards that they had won. I think they sold this place a couple times and wound up buying it back and running it again. Again they had great crabcakes.
I thought I heard that it was sold a while back and they moved somewhere but never heard anything about the location.

Can anyone help me out on this one?

You might be talking about Captain's Galley. The original was torn down and condos built on the site but Captain's Galley is in the condo building on the second floor with a great view and the food was very good when we were there last summer. Best crab cake we had as well as soft shell crab sandwich and the local cake - can't remember - something-island cake.

Hopefully the new Captains Galley will not be another condo when next you return.

It is a Smith Island Cake, named after Smith Island which is in the bay off of Crisfield. Best cake you will ever eat!
