Culver's for dinner

We had a lovely fall Sunday yesterday so we wandered off to do some late leaf peeping and bird watching. Coming home, the town we passed through is busting at the seems with new things from Menard's to about every FF franchise around. There nil mom and pops open on Sunday in this area so we went to Culver's which we like. I noticed they expanded their dinner menu so I tried the chopped steak and my SO had battered cod. The dinners come with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a dinner roll. The cod was good, as is all of their fish, but I was expecting more for the chopped steak. It was about 2 times as big around as their burger but pounded thin and left on the griddle so that the down side had a dark crust all over and made it difficult to cut with the plastic ware you are given. It came with a mushroom, onion sauce, I wouldn't call it a gravy because it was so thin. I think the potatoes were real, I detected some skin but they didn't have any flavor until I added the tiny pat of butter that was meant for the roll. The green beans were infused with onions and I abandonned them after a few bites. Considering that their burgers are pretty good, I really expected more from this. THey also now serve chicken, roast beef and shrimp as well as the cod and chopped steak in a dinner format. I'll stick to burgers or a tenderloin from now on.
