I was wondering if anyone has a list or knows what cities, counties, ect, do not allow the cooking of bacon wrapped hotdogs? I know california has such a law. I am curious if TN does.

Wrap (pun intended) up another regulation for California. The most over regulated state in the country.

This has to be one of the most outrageous food concepts I've heard. Why in the world would someone want to do this? Cook bacon wrapped hot dogs, I mean (not banning such). I can't quite imagine how someone would even attempt this; roll the dog in the bacon barber pole style, and then fasten the ends with toothpicks??

Are you talking about cooking the bacon dogs on a cart? The regulations for food carts would be covered by individual county health departments, not a state agency. If you're talking about in restaurants or at home, no such law exists in California. Heck, I can walk to the store around the corner right now and pick up a package of dogs already wrapped in bacon, just waiting to be fried up. Mmmmmmmm bacony goodness.

I think it comes down to pre-cooked meats that are allowed to be served (Hot Dogs) on a cart (just need to be heated). When you wrap it in bacon, your using an un-cooked food item, which a lot of health departments don't allow.

I like to wrap them in bacon. Secure with tooth pics then deep fry. I think I will try a bacon corn dog...Russ
