In Shreveport, LA get off I 20 at Exit 8 on Hwy. 526 which is W Bert Koun's Loop and go S a to second street which is W 70th St. take a right and go about a mile to Jan's River Restaurant for good seafood and good road food.

Becca's Steak and Seafood @ 6715 Pines Rd., Shreveport, LA 318 - 686 - 2811. Get off I 20 at Exit 617 at Marshall, TX and go N on Highway 59 to E Travis Street. Take a left and go to P and J for good home cooked comfort food. Varsity Diner is also a good road foot joint. If you want BBQ go to BBQ Express.

Pops Honey Fried Chicken in Terrell Texas. They have lotsa stuff besides chicken and a huge variety of sides. The fried catfish is real good.
 
I love the buffet at the Horseshoe Casino in La. Great bread pudding and other good stuff. It takes me 2 hours to do this buffet.
 
There is a good steak house called Earnist's in Shreveport.
 
If it's Canton First Monday flea market time stop and eat there. Gigantic selection of great food!!! The baked potatoes stuffed w/ BBQ are a big hit w/ the east Texas folks. Sausage on a stick, grilled outdoors on an old split oil drum, is one of my favs.

Anyone have any suggestions between NOLA and Shreveport?  I know NOLA well but not the route between NOLA and Shreveport.  Thanks.

Get off I 10 at Exit 157A in Baton Rouge, LA to Perkins Road and take a right to Parrain's for outstanding fresh seafood for lunch or dinner. Or get off I 10 at Exit 157A in Baton Rouge, La to Perkins Road. Take a left and Acme Oyster House is on your left open for lunch or dinner serving outstanding fresh seafood.

Or get Off I 10 at Exit 109 and go N on Highway 328 which is Anse Broussard Highway also to Poche Bridge Road. Go N to Main Highway and Poche Market and Restaurant for good Cajun cuisine for lunch. This is a buffet so you might really like it if you are in a hurry.
