Thank you for the link, Cliff. It was a great article and I would think that even if I weren't quoted in it.

Thanks for the link. Great article. I just finished 4 White Castles, fries, and their new unsweetened iced tea(delicious) and I'm hungry again.

No wonder you're hungry again if all you had was four Castles and some of their fries. Sheesh! My first four Castles get eaten before I even pick up my first onion chip. My second four Castles go before my second onion chip. And then I get down to eating Castles.

There were a few minor mistakes where I was concerned in the article, including misspelling my name. But, like I said, they are minor. I thought Larry did an outstanding job of describing the spirit of the tour and what Roadfood is all about. If I remember correctly, this was Larry's last assignment with the Dallas News. He was moving to Alabama, where his lovely wife Liz is from, to be Senior Travel Editor for Coastal Living Magazine.

I was surprised to receive a phone call from the article writer Larry Bleiberg yesterday, who apologized for my name being misspelled. Although it was totally unnecessary, I appreciated the gesture and the fact that it has been corrected. The article has been picked up by the wire service and should appear in other newspapers. While I had him on the phone, I asked him where the idea for the story came from and he said he is a longtime fan of Jane & Michael Stern and Roadfood. It is obvious from the article that he is one of us!

I took Cheryl with me for her birthday present & she got included in the article...but I was interviewed for German TV. As soon as everyone sees that footage I'm sure I'll be a roadfood star... Thanks for the post! Darlene

Does anyone know when the German documentary will be done? And how we will be able to see it? Needless to say, I am very curious to see how it turns out.

I think it still has about a year before it is released. They are planning to do some more shooting this Fall.

Stephen- Thanks for the information. I would appreciate it if you keep us updated when you hear anything. Even though I wasn't interviewed, I am very much looking forward to seeing the final product.

So this makes White Castles Chinese food? Seriously, I love the things but haven't seen any "on the hoof" (so to speak) in over 20 years. At least I can get them in the frozen foods section of my local grocery.
