Bethany Blues is building a new store on Rt 1 North in Lewes.I ate at the one in Bethany once,it was OK but not great.I asked the young (european on work visa) busboy to pack up the bones for my Belgian Shepherd.I watched him till he smiled and nodded in what I was satisfied was acknowledgement. But I was wrong. He never returned.15 minutes later I flagged down the manager and asked him for the bones. He went to the busboy and they had some kind of disfunctional bi-lingual conversation.Manager comes back.says "Sorry,he didnt understand what you wanted and the bones got thrown out".I felt like saying,"Hey you can say sorry to the dog with the big bone-shattering teeth".But of course I didnt.Ah well.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun, and a lot of gas money, but we split it 50/50, kinda took the sting out of it. We are continuing on this spring around the New England area so keep checking the site. We should have write-ups on each place very soon too.

Bethany BBQ was great. The brisket and the St. Louis style ribs were great. The brisket had a great smokey wood flavor, very good. The ribs almost had a chinese style flavor, very different but really tasty. The Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA was especially good. :) The next stops will be more local to me, in the Boston / NH area. Once motorcycling weather is in full swing that is. Anytime I can be on two wheels I will be. Doug

Nice pics man, very nice! Is there a narrative report as well on each place? I couldn't find one. A while back ellen4641 here of RF posted a link to a website, www.pigtrip.net. It's a guy who live off of Rte. 495 in MA and he writes about BBQ in the Northeast. I love his site. Very thorough and balanced. Might be great for research before your next leg of the tour.

Doug, are you heading to places known for great BBQ, or just any BBQ shack, regardless of the reviews? I ask because the Outer Banks is no place for what you'd deem three-star killer 'cue. Now if you had time, this trip would change your life. It's definitely high on my list of vacation spots! Looking forward to your review text! Chris
