I haven't been on Roadfood in a while so I thought I would update everyone on a few things.

A new restaurant opened up in Port Orange, The Daily Grind Burgers. It's in the shoppes at yorktown on Dunlawton ave next to the monterey grill. I tried it out last week and thought it was fantastic. They grind fresh meat everyday for their burgers and serve them on homemade kaiser like rolls, which are buttered and grilled. They offer a free toppings bar with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, etc... I have a take out menu, if I can get my scanner to work, I'll post it. I haven't tried the Brickyard yet, which everyone say's has the best burgers. But the Daily Grind burgers is really good.

There is also a new coffee house on the corner of beville and Clyde Morris, also called the Daily Grind. It's sort of like Starbucks. I tried an iced coffee which was good, but a little strong for me. http://www.dailygrindunwind.com

Another new restaurant, the Bavarian Festhaus was, according to their website, supposed to open in october. It's on the corner of Beville and Nova rd. It's not open yet but I just went by there today when I went to pay my brighthouse bill, it's in the same shopping center as brighthouse. They are still working on it, the signs just went up and I saw they put some tables in. I'll update when it opens. This place is going to be huge! It's going to have a biergarten with a stage, a bakery and coffee shop, a gift shop, a deli, an ice cream shop, a banquet hall and a sports bar. I am excited for this to open. http://www.bavarianfesthaus.com

I am pretty sure Baah Ben will find his way over here so if he does, I finally tried Leanh's Chinese Restaurant. You were right! It was fantastic! My mom and I went to lunch there and ordered the lunch specials, the portions were huge and we wound up taking half of it home. I had the chicken and broccoli which wasn't like any I had before. It was different but really good. We also ordered egg rolls which were the best I've had in Florida. Thanks so much Baah Ben, for the suggestion! I can't wait till she opens the new place on Nova rd, it's closer to me!

Well, I guess that's it for now. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Qwerty79 - Glad you liked Leahan's...Next time try the roast pork ding....Lunch is a great way to try the place..I like their "mixed soup." Lunch is most reasonable and still lots of food. Glad your Mom liked it, too. It's my mom's favorite place..she's 94 and walks 2 miles a day! She can still bust'em with the best, too.

How about trying Legend's one time. Please see my posts on this place. They deserve all of our support in these tough times. I will try your burger place soon!! The Bavarian place, too! Maybe I will drag JohnA with me for a burger since my wife does not eat red meat. Ellen..meat us there ok

Baah Ben- I've never heard of legend's. Where/ What is it?
There were quite a few things on Leanh's menu that I want to try, I'll have to try the roast pork ding. By the way the Daily Grind also has fresh ground turkey burgers, grilled chicken and homemade black bean burgers. I'll be posting the menu soon, I just got my scanner fixed.

Oh, one more thing. I hope I'm like your Mom when I'm 94. I'm pushing 30 and 2 miles a day seems like a lot!

Two tenths of a mile is a lot for me!

Legends is a sports type bar with really good food. We have been there 3 times and each time it was very good. You can read my comments on "Where to Dine" We went with groups of people and all enjoyed their food. A good char-broiled burger, very good fries, excellent pork chops, nice salads, excellent mac n cheese, good slaw, and a good philly cheese steak for not ever having a legitimate Philly cheesesteak. the portions are very large..Youomight want to share somehting like the Philly Cheesesteak. Or, my recommendation ..The pork Chops with mac n cheese as one side for sure!

It was the former Frogger's and it's on SR 40 West right off I-95 and Exit 268..Up about a mile on the left. I think you and your Mom will like it. They are not open for lunch..Just dinner..4 to 10 I believe are their hours. Maybe earlier on Sat and Sun...
