There are soooooo many pictures so I'll just contribute a bit on the food since I was sitting closest to the action at the Brickyard. Besides, I don't know how to post pictures anyway.
Ok, first there were two grill men on board and only one waitress (Lori) handled everything..She was terrific. She took our appetizer order first. We ordered 4 baskets of wings..One medium, one or two hot and one with hot garlic.. The hot garlic being their hot sauce with chopped garlic added to it.
They use fresh wings at the Brickyard and they put those babies down for 10 minutes. Then they tossed them in the various sauces while keeping track of each order. They then placed the wings on the char-broiler for about 3-4 minutes. Check out the picture and you can see all the wings lined up. It gave them a crispy texture and really finished off the skin well.
Lori had prepared all of us for the wings with plenty of napkins and each of us got a small paper dish. So, when the wing baskets were put on the three tables, all we had to do was pick and choose which ones we wanted and drop a few in our paper dishes. Perfect! There were lots of little cups of extra sauce and blue cheese and some carrot sticks and celery sticks as well.
Most everyone already had their drinks (lots of interesting choices) and everyone dug in. The wings were very, very good. Moist, meaty and with an very nice texture and slightly char flavor. Holligans, a chain, also does their wings this way. These were meatier and better though.
While we were eating the wings, the waitress then took our orders. Most ordered the burger in various forms and doneness. Some had grilled onions with cheese..Some had that as well as bacon and several orderd tomatoes and lettuce, too. Most called for medium rare. All the burgers also came with a small souffle cup of slaw and a pickle. Most everyone also asked for their fries well done.
There was also an order of good onion rings...Like there wasn't going to be enough food. The cooks placed 7 out of the 10 french fry orders in one basket and the three requests that were not for well done went in the second basket..The boys had everything down pat..Very organized. It was a pleasure to watch them in action.
I immediately cut my burger in half..I know I know Real men don't cut their burgers in half! Look, those that didn't had their burgers literally falling apart on them from all the fixing and the meat juices pouring forth..No burger roll can stand up to this onslaught of ingredients - tomatoes, cheese, fried onions, bacon, etc. The fries, albeit frozen, were really good. Crispy and hot...Just perfectly done.
Two in the "Rich's Roadfood Party" (Miami Don and Cindy) had never had a Brickyard Burger so I was very interested to see how they liked it. They were happy....So was everyone else. The cooks and Laurie had done a very good job!

Rich..thanks again for your generosity.
