I love where I live, but have no real access to ethnic goodies other than Cajun/Creole. I wold like very much to compile a list of sources for good samplings, preferably those available in small quantities. My interests are mainly in the sausage / deli meats, and, truly, anything "shippable." If it helps, I'd go past "sausage" to linguiƧa (do I have the spelling right?); "chorizo" to Spanich chorizo, and so forth. Honest, I'm not trying to be a smartass: I just want to learn and savor. Any links will be appreciated!

Try the Mill Basin Deli at www.pastrami.net and the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company at www.pennmac.com. The Mill Basin Deli has great pastrami as well as other jewish deli items and the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company has great italian meats and cheeses as well as those from other countries. I believe they also carry Caputo flour and San Marzano tomatos

I have received products from Zingermans several times http://www.zingermans.com/Index.pasp. Never been disappointed. I just learned that my uncle in Michigan sent me some goodies for the boat. Order extra pickles! Get their pastrami sandwich kit or the reuben sandwich kit. All the meats, bread, etc. are included. I second the nomination for Pennsylvania Macaroni Company. We love that place and wish we had something similar to it in Anchorage! They're fabulous.

Here's what is probably the leading manufacturer of Portuguese sausages in New England. They'll ship 5 pounds or more (and of course, it's a lot cheaper in the supermarket). http://www.gasparssausage.com/ Happy hunting!
