Depreciation on Used Carts Mon, 01/2/06 11:03 PM (permalink)
I've been looking around at used carts. Does anyone have any idea on how much a cart could depreciate per year? or however it's worth is established? Condition of, is obvious, besides that...
Thanks

I am not sure how to figure the worth but make sure to inspect around the steam pan area, many used carts I have seen look great until you get to the steam area and many are rusted out. Also inspect the plumbing very well, make the seller show you that the water gets hot and that there are no leaks. I had to replace all of the plumbing on a cart that I bought from http://www.worldsbesthotdogcarts.com/, they have many other websites and names but all are made in Canada. I would stay away from these.

One thing I forgot to add was most of the carts made there only have a 3\4 size steam table so you cant use a water pan with them. I am not really trying to bash the company, I am just telling you things that I didnt know when I bought mine but I wouldnt buy from them again.

For what it's worth, I got my cart on ebay for $400.00. You might check auctions to see going prices for pre-owned.
