Destin Florida Area

HI!  We are planning a semi annual trip to Destin, Florida.  What we are looking for are places to eat that aren't like the typical "Tourist" places but "Hole in the Wall" places where the locals go.
Thanks!

Give Dewey Destin's a try. Not exactly a road food place, but good seafood, and a nice view.

I  lived 16 years in P'cola and would go over frequently.
Most Destin Food places are tourist oriented. You may need to hop over to Ft. Walton for hole in the wall. There are a lot of various Asian places over there as a result of all the military people over there who served in Asia and acquired the tastes. Many Asian Brides over there too!

One of my favorite places was :

Gets a 4 out of 5 rating on Yelp.

If you want to venture over to P'cola, here's 2 favorites:

They also have a place in Destin.
Peg Leg's is directly on P'cola Beach and has been written up on here:

There is a Mcguires Irish Pub in Destin,  a bit smaller but pretty
much the same. Also there is a Hogsbreath in Destin, the
North Florida Version of the Key West Restaurant and Bar.
Not bad food, but at least stop in and get a T-shirt

    I mentioned the Destin McGuires.
Used to be a Hogsbreath in Ft Walton too. Is it still there?

Go to The Red Bar on road 30A.  Goggle their website.  You won't be disappointed.  Also in Oakaloosa Island try The Hightide.  I've lived here since 1964 and have tried everything.  These two are very good local places.

I agree on the Hightide, have not been to Red Bar, I think FWB Hogsbreath closed in the mid 90's
Pretty sure that was actually the original.
