Anyone got the skinny on those dog's mentioned in the subject title which I am probably spelling wrong?

I saw them in my deli case at Shaw's and they come individually wrapped, so I got one to try and not bad.... at .72 cents a dog, they should be...

I googled them and got nowhere....Except a recall notice back in 2004.. (oh boy...)(but the recall involved other brands also)

Pesonally I really like them and they are the ones I do buy.
When they are on sale for around $2.00 or so a pound I buy
5-10 pounds and freeze them. Natural casings of coarse.
They are one of the few that I can eat without to much problems.

You might want to try Jordans Natural Casing Franks. Although they were purchased by big bad Tyson meats they are still better than most natural casing franks in Maine. Originally, Jordans had Nutmeg as an ingredient which has since been "toned down" a bit. They are better than Old Neighborhood NC Franks, Deutschemacher NC Franks or Kayem NC Franks (IMO). The all time best were Swifts Premium NC Franks but have since been discontinued when purchased by another big bad company ConAgra. I am anxious to try Thumanns if they come to Maine.....probably as good as or better than Swifts.

I also picked up some John Morrells also, but have not tried them. I see the Jordans in the case, I have tried Old Neighborhood, and liked those.
But I like that "snap", as the old Maple Leaf Frankfurters used to have, but as you say "Big Bad Tyson" bought that company out and discontinued them also.
I had numerous emails with them, and its listed on my mapleleaf post a couple months back.
I wasnt too impressed with the Kayem, I liked the red better than the regular, cant figure out why they were different if all it was, was the coloring...
          Thanks,
I am going to the store today. All I have is Hannafords and Shaws, and Super Walmart here. My next trip to Massachusetts, I will hit price choppers and see what they have.
