Well, Tess Trueheart, of course, and Gravel Gertie, B.O. Plenty's wife. Then there was Junior Tracy, Sparkle Plenty who was Junior's wife and B.O.'s daughter, Diet Smith and Sam Catchem. I wish I could think of the name of the police chief or commissioner, and there was someone named Vitamin something.

Read it every Sunday in The Jokes. That's what my grandfather who I called Pa called the comics. All I remember is Prune Face. My mind is going!

Yep, Prune Face was another. I never would have taken you for a Dick Tracy fan. I'd have thought of you as more a Nancy or Aunt Fritzie fan.

My favorite fem fatale was The Dragon Lady of Smilin' Jack. Also liked Fat-Stuff whose shirt buttons kept popping off in afore mentioned comic strip. -------my heart throb was Brenda Starr---redheaded reporter and adventuress. Pat Patton was Tracy's partner, but never got the credit for doing anything. Maybe he wound up Tracy's radio wrist-watch every morning.

Who was the guy than ran around with a cloud always over his head? Was there another one called Fly Face? Strange that his wrist radio which was not a reality at that time is now almost a antique. Mobile phones are almost that way now. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Pat Patton -- right. The Dragon Lady was in Terry and the Pirates, Milt Caniff's coming strip. She was really Madame Deal. I loved Fat Stuff inSmilin' Jack, and during the short period of time when I lived in Pompano Beach, Zack Mosley, Smilin' Jack's creator, lived just down the street from me, across from Hillsboro Inlet.

I think the one with the female ghost was HAMLET a Prince of a fellow. He ran around hollering "Out,out damn spot". But his dog Spot peed on the carpet anyhow because Hammy (that's what we called him back then) spoke in Danish, and Spot was an Irish Setter and didn't know a word of Danish---which you should sell with coffee for breakfast--you should make a lot of money and not have to franchise.

Not to be too picky (OK, so I really want to be picky as hell) but why would some damned Dane name a solid red setter Spot?

Ancient One, this needs clarification!

Just need to mention, if you haven't seen the strip lately, it changed over to a new writer/artist team a month or so ago. It's got its own new look that respects the strip's roots, and the storylines are lively and dynamic. To put it nicely, the previous team should have retired some years earlier.
