You are not going to find much in the downtown area besides bar food. The best being Kelly's and The Banshee. I like Sibio's in Dunmore and Villa Marie in West Scranton for down home, red sauce Italian Food. Oh, in the downtown, right on the square, Osaka does great sushi and hibachi. If someone tells you to go to Coopers Seafood, and you feel compelled to listen to them, order the cheeseburger They do have a great atmosphere and beer menu though. If you are mobile, go to Old Forge and do a pizza tour

The Glider Restaurant (see review on this site) is just a few minutes from downtown. Great open-faced Roast Beef / Porketta sandwiches. Cosmo's has EXCELLENT cheesesteaks and The Amber (in nearby Moosic) is OUTSTANDING Indian. I second both of Joe's Italian recommendations - and would add Arcaro and Genell in Old Forge. The essential food for the area is Old Forge Pizza (try a bunch - you can order by "the cut", but Ghigiarelli's is the best!).

Joe, have you ever eaten at Anna Maria's in Dunmore? Our family has met in Scranton several times and really have enjoyed the food there.

Greymo Joe, have you ever eaten at Anna Maria's in Dunmore? Our family has met in Scranton several times and really have enjoyed the food there. Funny, I have eaten at their original location in Washington DC, which I believe is closed now, but never the one in Dunmore. And the owner(Jack)and I go way back. I also have heard good things about the food.
