Dinosaur "Bar-B-Bleu" sauce

Well. This seems to be a blend of Dinosaur's bbq sauce and bleu cheese salad dressing. According to the bottle, it is to be used on just about anything; salads, burgers, dogs, chicken... anything. I'm gonna set the next paragraph up. I'm not all that picky an eater; I'm allergic to seafood, but otherwise I'm not averse to trying most new things once. Mary Joan often says to me, "You'd eat the butt out of a skunk!" Or something like that. OK, now to the review. This stuff is awful. These are simply two flavors that don't go well together. I've tried it on sandwiches, hot dogs, and burgers; it ruins whatever it touches. It makes the bile rise in my stomach. I poured the remainder down the drain. This is the first and only Dinosaur product I have been unhappy with. Tom

I have to say the bottled variety sold in stores is nothing like the fresh they make at the restaurant...I always order the Bar-B-Bleu on my salad sides at the Dino. We bought the bottle stuff at Tops and were disappointed...still in the fridge after a year..It is the only bottled sauce they sell that I don't particularly like. I recommend you try it in the restaurant though...ask for a sample they'll be happy to oblige.

The same is true of the chili. After the chili review, I did grab a can of dino chili at Wegman's. It's certainly better than other canned chilis, but still not as good as the restaurant. It's hard to bottle/can up the restaurant. I'm still a huge fan of the rubs/spices, slathering sauce and other bbq sauces. I can definately see how bottling their bar-b-bleu might not work as something mass produced.

I find I'm that most packaged BBQ Sauces and packaged blue cheese dressings are not good. It would figure that BBQ, Blue Cheese sauce would not be good.

Think of it more as a creamy bleu cheese dressing with a touch of BBQ sauce. Fresh in the restaurant its wonderful.

Cosmos, IMO Dinosaur BBQ sauce is the top bottled sauce available. And HFCS free! Tom
