The first "dipdog" that I ever had was back in the '60s at drive-in restaurants in East Tennessee. The difference between a dipdog and a corn dog was that the dipdog used a flour based coating versus a corn meal based coating. Up until about six years ago I was still able to get a dipdog at the "Brenmark Drive-In" in Morristown, Tennessee, which is now closed. Any of you ever had a dipdog??? Buckshot

I grew up part of my life in Memphis eating Pronto Pups and had a teacher (7th grade} i think, who was from Boston. I asked what was on the school menu that day and she said...Dip Dogs. I'm like WTH. Laura Diener was her name, and she was hot. Dip Dog maybe was a suggestive name for a seventh grader.
