Disappointed in the new "Burger Bros" Stuart, Fl

For many months we watched an old Kentucky fried location being transformed into a place called Burger Bros. they touted fresh never frozen ground beef and said something about "Since 1964"
We finally got a chance to stop in yesterday and what a disappointment!
They got the looks of the place right and the menu looks good and according to the article below they make their own bread, sauces etc but the cheeseburgers we got were terrible and there is no way to sugar coat it. The bun was very stale and the meat was like rubber. We did complain as did another customer at another table. The manager came over and poked the bun with his finger saying that's the way they come out after being on the grill.
To their credit they did refund our money and cooked us two new burgers which were slightly better then the originals but still rather awful. The other thing that bothered me was they didn't have name brand soda for fountain drinks. A sign touted their own brand of soda's as being much better. The soda's were simply called cola, diet cola, orange etc. I tried the orange which was orange in color but had no discernible flavor whatsoever.
They did have a decent root beer float and there were several other things on the menu but I don't think we'll be going back.

The phrase "since 1964" apparently refers to a burger place their father opened in 1964 in the Bronx called the "Flair"
 

How far is Stuart from W. Palm Beach?  Based on the article it sounds like that's where the original is; maybe it'd be worthwhile to see if the food's any better there?

Stuart's only about 1/2 hour away from their original location in WPB and I travel that way about twice a month. I guess the problem is there are many good places to eat in WPB it would be hard to convince myself to try them again.
