Ditch Dog in NYC/Mac and Cheese?

Just read in today's NY Post about the Ditch Dog (at Ditch Plains restaurant) in NYC....Hot dog topped with Mac and Cheese. Owner says he ordered a dog with cheese once somewhere and, through a misunderstanding, was served one with the above "condiment"...was initially disgusted by the thought but, after trying, declared it "amazing." He now offesr this at his place as an off menu item.. Anyone dared to try this yet....or recreated at home? I'm not going first!

Of the reviews I've read, most liked it. But almost all agreed the $11 was a bit much, even in chi-chi NYC. One critic, who really liked it, suggested that, at $11 a dog, you get a rich uncle to buy it for you. Unless a rich uncle comes along, I'll wait until I'm in a good old hot dog joint that is also known for real good mac and cheese. And then, as Uncle John Joad (Frank Darien) said to Pa Joad (Russell Simpson) in "The Grapes of Wrath" (1940) just before going for a swim in the Colorado River, well, I'd "give 'er a whirl."
