I have young kids :-) Also, it is a character buffet - princesses abound - and my two little darlings are BIGTIME into the princesses When we were there in June, they had Snow White and Prince Charming... but the real stars were the evil stepmother and her two daughters. They put on a show that was a riot; we were almost crying, it was so funny. The one step sister came over to my 14 year old nephew and just screams across the entire dining room, top of her lungs in a screeching voice, "MOTHER! LOOK! A MAN! HE'S MINE! It was real interactive theater, great stuff. They danced, then the other stepsister came over and they started a tug of war over him. I have a couple pictures, I'll stick 'em up when I get home. But the food was still uninteresting. Edit: He's a minor and I don't want to post his picture. Here is one where he's looking away. You get the idea.

I am an annual pass holder at Disney. I am usually there if not once a week than at least several times a month. If you ever get a chance to try the food & wine festival in Epcot you should go, it's a lot of fun to be able to try so many different foods. Also, another great resource for Disney dining information is the following thread, you can view photos of a lot of the food served in the Disney restaurants. This way you know what you are ordering. A great resource. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=26903579#post26903579

DW and I are big Disney nuts...and, not surprisingly, so are our 3 young 'uns. You can find decent food at Disney, but you have to look. FYI, at Kona Cafe (where you had breakfast, I think) the Tonga Toast ain't half bad...but it's VERY rich and sweet. We share an order (and by "we", I mean it serves most of the table....). We tend to steer clear of Table Service places when at MK...none of them are really stellar. Crystal Palace is probably the best choice going....but more for the entertainment (The Pooh characters) than the food. Some of the Counter Service is palatable (Cosmic Rays, your mentioned Pecos Bills, and Harbor House) but even that's not stellar. Our favorite haunts include some of those mentioned previously (Raglan Road at Downtown Disney, Jiko's at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian). But here's some of our favorites I've NOT seen mentioned: Boma's, also at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The OP mentions Villa de Flora...if you like that, you'll probably like Boma's. Instead of Mediteranian, it's African influenced. But it's likewise adventurous. The Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. The steaks are VERY good, as are the sides. They're not "Ruth's Cris" good, but they're better than most. Le Cellier is likewise good, especially for a steak. For Counterservice, the absolute BEST place on Disney property is Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. The Seared Tuna on Mixed Greens is a favorite, but there's lots of other good stuff, too. Both Spoodles and The Flying Fish at the Boardwalk Inn have been VERY good in the past. Of those two, The Flying Fish has generally been more consistent, IMHO. Anyway, those are some of the highlights we've enjoyed. Hope it helps others when "trip planning". :)

The best meal we had on our trip last year was fish and chips at the Rose and Crown - British Pavillion - in Epcot. Pretty reasonable prices for Disney! One of the adults, an avid beer drinker, liked the selection of brews. Boma's African buffet, that pilfrek mentioned, was also good and featured lots of unusual dishes.

DW - Darling Wife. :) Sorry, I eliminated a whole SLEW of "Disney-fied" abbreviations from the initial post (AKL, etc) but somehow completely missed that one!

We love Spoodles in the Boardwalk area. They specialize in Mediterranean-style food. I don't remember the names of the entrees we got, but everything was great. Especially the sangria.
