Domino's hot subs
Fri, 10/10/08 11:24 AM

Lately I've been seeing TV commercials here in southern Wisconsin for Domino's new hot sub sandwiches. I don't plan on trying one anytime soon but am curious: is this a nationwide rollout or just specific to certain regions? So apparently I'm now supposed to go to Domino's for my mass-produced subs and Subway for my mass-produced pizza...no wonder I'm constantly confused! Brad

I've seen the ads here also but so far have resisted trying one.

Those commercials are also running in the NY and Philadelphia markets. Every time that I see one of those commercials, the thought that goes through my mind is...If those sandwiches are as good as their pizzas, they are definitely to be avoided!

We tried the steak sub today (I am in PA), it wasn't bad, but nothing I would go out of my way for. They aren't very big.

Flavor/taste excellent. Toppings are minimal. (We tried the steak & Italian versions.)

By coincidence, we tried for the first time today, in La Crosse WI. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch, which she pronounced very good. It looked like enough chicken, even though it was pieces, not a whole breast. I asked how much meat was on the "Philly" steak, and was told two and a half ounces. So I ordered double meat for an extra 1.50, and still thought it was a mighty skinny sandwich. The Fazoli's club is a better deal, for about the same price.

I'm assuming they're of the same quality as their pizza, so I'll pass.
