Dominos introduces Brooklyn Style pizza

What do you think? Here's what one ACTUALLY looks like: They hand toss it but stretch it thin? I think you'd have to order extra dipping sauces to make it any good.

Looks a slight bit better than the other 2 or 3 domino pizzas I've had in the last ten years. Not good enough to make me want one though.

Domino's used to be known in the early '80's for it's hand tossed pizza. I was quite good at it. BUT then they changed the sauce recipe (too spicy, said the public). Soon after that, they changed their dough recipe (TOO chewy, said the wimpy public). Following closely to that, Domino's changed to CHAIN OVENS (I want my pizza NOW, said the wimpy and rather shallow public). What is left? Crappy pizza. But. That, it seems is what the majority wanted. So they got it.

Glad to see Domino's now has a pizza to compete with Pizza Hut's New Yorker. They are only about 4 or 5 years late, and I don't think PH even sells the NY'er anymore. The last time I had a Domino's pizza it was absolutely inedible. Conveyor pizza is a joke, frozen is better.

Looks pretty good to me, nice crust and toppings. No, it's not going to replace the little joint down the street but good looking for a fast food chain. They do a lot of business at the hotel I manage, even with a couple of good mom & pops within two minutes walking distance. John

I find it strange that the pizza in the advertisement doesn't look as good as DamnTheCowboys' pizza he photographed. Usually the reverse is true. IMO, DamnTheCowboys' pic looks like a pretty decent pie. I'd have to try it though to be sure. Which will be a while - since I'm watching my carbs.

For Dominos, doesn't look too bad. Looks like another entry in the thin crust/actually cooked line of chain pizza. A little like Papa Gino's Rustica line. Which for Papa Gino's, isn't too bad (and superior to Dominos). But, with good locals in every town in my area, you'd have to be high to get Dominos. Oh yeah, that is why people order Dominos!

"Ann Arbor style" didn't perform well in test markets? It has an inferiority complex over it's second-rate status to New York Pizza that it makes up for with bragadiccio? As soon as it's successful it's going to move to L.A.?

Thanks Pork, neat link! With millions of Americans hearing Domino's ads about Brooklyn pizza, there may be such a thing now? Anyone from Brooklyn have something to say? Joe
