Doritos Collisions... Mon, 10/22/07 10:04 PM (permalink)
A while ago we were discussing Flamin' Hot Cheetos, and we mentioned Frito-Lay's new snacks called "Munchies" which is a combo bag of Chitos, Doristos, Rold Gold and Sun Chips. Well, now we have "Collisions" which is a combo bag of two types of Doritos in one. (for example: taco-blue cheese and taco-ranch, or taco-chipotle and taco-cheddar).
Whatta ya think? (seems a "rip off" to me - just combining 2 things in one bag). Guess that's a Collision!!!

It has to be junk food at its junkiest. We've had Collisions around here all summer. Twice the salt, twice the artificial flavors. I used to eat Doritos when I was really young, like 42 years ago when they first came out, but now...? Just too junky and salty. Not snacky in a good sense to me.

I think they are using it to try new (or old) flavors. The boffalo/blue ranch was a great disappointment. taco/chiplote ranch not that bad although I stopped at one bag. They should do a super collision fiesta bag. nacho cheese/taco/guacamole/salsa.

I liked the taco/chipotle ranch Collisions, but there wasn't much distinction between the two flavors in the bag. I didn't try the buffalo/bleu cheese ones because I don't like buffalo sauce or bleu cheese. Junk food, yes, but sometimes you just crave those things. They have just come out with two new limited flavors, one is jalapeno based and at the moment I can't remember the other, but it's in a purple bag. I'll have to look at Wally World again.

I wish I could perfect the Flux Capacitor so I could travel back in time before Frito-Lay RUINED Nacho Cheese Doritos a few years ago with that awful flavor change. The old Nacho Cheese Doritos from my youth were addictive. New ones taste like tortilla chips with American Cheese on them. Blecch.
