Double Dipper in Texas

Right out of a time warp. this is a magnificent find if you are ever in Frisco, Texas (a bedroom community of Dallas).
Double Dipper is in quaint Downtown Frisco, on Main Street. There's a drive-through as well as outside eating, where you'll find families from all around North Texas swooning over DD's incredible hot dogs and homemade frozen custard concoctions.
The dogs are huge and juicy, served on a whole wheat bun and topped with a FABULOUS chunky sweet-hot relish, made with chile peppers, sweet pickles and onions. That's addictive in and of itself, but you can also have the "four napkin" variety with chili and cheese. And when they say it's messy, believe it. One could cause a big pile up if attempting to eat and drive!
Now for the sundaes.
There are no less than 2 dozen different varieties, from the Double Dipper in the Sky (two scoops of the most creamy, wonderful fresh vanilla custard on top of a super-fudgy homemade brownie, drenched in not-too-sweet hot fudge, and crowned with a mountain of broken buttered Texas pecans and real whipped cream. Oh, and two big maraschino cherries!) to the Key Lime Pie (same vanilla custard with homemade key lime sauce, whipped topping and buttered almonds) and The Jolt (vanilla custard, homemade espresso sauce, lots of hot fudge and buttered almonds) along with a whole menu of winners in between.
Every one is so good, you'll start to see spiders on the wall if you don't get a multi-weekly fix, especially during our hot Dallas summers.
