Re:Dry Ice Question?
Hi, I live in Flagstaff, Arizona and drive to Phoenix to pick up ice cream and Italian Ice at Restaurant Depot. I purchased my dry ice from Big Boy's Ice Cream on Grant Street, Phoenix for $0.40 a lb. I called the dry ice company and they referred me to them.
I put the dry ice ON TOP of the containers of ice cream in those quilted bags for the 140 mile drive to Flag. The bag was in the truck.
So for the first 1oo miles the outside temp was over 100 degrees. Not to mention the change in elevation from 2000 -7000 ft above sea level.
Ice cream always makes it home fine. Put the dry ice under items to cool. On Top to freeze. I would not chance putting it on any item that the public will touch as they will get burned. That is why no one under 18 is allowed to touch dry ice when it is sold.
Hope this helps a fellow Arizonan.
