I have done tons of detailed research about these things and will be glad to pass it along to my Roadfood buds. If... anyone has an interest.

Have not heard of them.  What are they, and how does one go about getting them?

Google them up. They are sold at a few retail outlets but the best way to get them is on the net. They use water vapor, not smoke.

Sounds really mysterious, Joe.  I'll be sure to check into them.

My roommate has tried many of them.  They burn up and don't work after a very short time.

It was very frustrating for her.

She found that she like them as much as cigarettes and they were just as expensive or more so than cigarettes.

She was replacing one vise with another.

She's back to smoking.  It's cheaper.

If you're talking about the "smokeless" electronic cigarettes that are supposedly better for you than smoking, you'd probably better do some more research.  Somehow liquid nicotine on an electric heater coil inhaled without benefit of a filter of any kind doesn't seem to safe to me...or to quite a large number of doctors and scientists.

I would be curious to hear about this water vapor thing, though...that might be doable, especially living in a state where I now have to troop outside (at least ten feet from the door!) to smoke no matter where I go!

CP, Mysterious... Maybe. Tha folks in tha UK have been using them or years. It's tha REAL deal by now over there. But... they like chips w/ their fish.*&%$

Mar, sounds like she got ripped off on a cheep knock off. Sad but hat has happened allot.

Felix, safe? I wouldn't want my Great Grandzillias to use them but... I would rather anyone in my familly who smokes use them instead of regular cigs... Hmm, diriving is not so safe ether.

Jeepers, sounds like we can learn much about them from you! I will check out your neighbor.

Oh, The M401 is the e-cig of choice, so far, for my family. I am looking into the ECigars though.

And Oh, folks who use these things say thet are "vaping". It's water vapor that comes out and looks like smoke.

Ohhh, Mar... vaping is WAY cheeper than smoking. No tobaco tax! I added it up and it's about 1/6th. the cost of smoking. Tha's after yoy recoup some costs of the equiptment. You can get a good starter kit for about the cost of a carton of cigs.

Oh Oh.... Felix... yes it's doable. These "vaper" folks all have their fav brands but my rec is tha m401's as a good starter.

But, Jeeper... what kind do you use??? I checked out your neighbors site but ... no 401's. They do have tha e-juice though.

Forgot, there are some BIG e-cig forums. Just google em up. Some of these folks ARE experts. I'm just a newbe.

But, wana talk about Chili and I am not a newbe. Thas it not to say I am an expert though. Wana know how to roll 1,000 cheese enchiladas in 2 hrs and now I become an expert. Oh, and pets of almost any kind... also an expert.

I'm still quite a lot leery of them.  The fact that e-cigarettes haven't been around long enough for there to be any clue whatsoever how they effect your health (there are studies being done, but it will be years yet before they see any results) makes me not all that interested in trying them.  No filter, inhaling electronically vaporized liquid nicotine...yikes.  I'll just stick to actual cigarettes...I already know what they'll do to me.

Felix, it took me almost 2 years from when I 1st heard about the to give it a try... same thoughts as you. The most accepted as healthy is the US or UK made stuff. Jeeper's neighbor has a very popular brand. You can go there and read about it.

My take... way safer that breathing in smoke. 100+ times safer IMHO.

As I said earlier... there are some REAL big forums where you can ask and talk about this stuff.

Jeepers, great that you have cut way back!

Oh, I forgot... There are allot of food and drink flavors in the e-juice. Mostly sweet stuff like Waffles, cheese cake, chocolate covered bananas, milk shake, and so on. And, drinks like pina colada, rum n coke, margarita, jack daniels and so on.

One e-smoker-forum poster heard me talkin about Texas Chili and suggested that it might be a good new e-juice flavor. Hmm, just got some ideas.

The list could go on and on.......

One guy suggested that this stuff, the kind w/ zero nicotine, might be a good way for folks to loose weight. When you get a craving just take a puff. :~)

Oh, Jeepers... ask your neighbor what he thinks about some of those above new flavors. :~) I see he carries some of the real high quility juice. And, what kind do you like?

I use the Menthol and the Spearmint. The little bottles last a long time! I'll see if he can come up with a pulled pork w/slaw flavor! BTW, i use the carts with the highest nicotine and i'm using the Joye 501. One stainless steel w/red LED and one black w/blue LED. If you contact Chris at Cigtechs he should be able to get you a starter kit (2 cigs +charger) with colors and LED's of your choice, depending what he has in stock. He's had a lot of trouble getting these things through US Customs but things are working smoother now. I think it's something about taxes (the FDA can't figure out how to tax them yet)!

Jeepers, that Joye 501 gets good reviews. Some folks like the m401s and some like the joy better. I have only tried the 401 but may try the Joy at some point. I will give your bud some business if I do. I may order some juice from him anyway. He has that well thought of Rath stuff.

I think the stainless is cool looking and plan on getting a SS batt for my 401. I like the non red colored LED's so folks wont thingl you are smoking a real cig.

Oh, I ordered some Chocolate Covered Banana flavor ejuice on a whim. I also ordered some Havana Cigar. but... that PP w/ slaw sounds great! :~)

Yep, the FDA is kinda comfused about these things.

They just came out w/ an Xlarge cart for the m401 that holds 9 drops of ejuice. I ordered some to try. Thay may make the for the 510 also?

Many of the more experienced users have evolved to something they call a Mod. They have stronger batterys and they say the Mods produce more vapor.

They even make an e-gigar that looks like a real cigar.

Oh, Jeepers... they make a 36 nicotine but it is kinda hard to find. I am using 24. That is the highest the Rath comes in. I have heard 24 may be the highest that is safe to use. If you hear anything about this let me know.

At Chris's Cigtechs web site some folks reviewed some of the Rath flavors. This stuf is USA made. One reviewer said the Waffle tastes so much like a buttery syrupy waffle that it may blow your mind.  Several folks liked the watermelon also. The menthol also got a good review.

I still want some "chicken n waffles" when they come out w/ that. :~)

Jeepers, I told them about your pulled pork w/ slaw idea at tha e smokers forum. They started a thread in my honer about chili e juice. There is a link there to a place that makes all kinds of flavors... including a spicy chili. You have to mix them yourself though. The old pros at this stuff mix their own e juices.

Anyone w/ questions about this stuff can ask anything at the forum I mentioned above. It a small, not many posters, forum but these guys know their stuff. Tell em PapaJoe8 sent ya. :~)

Again Jeepers, I think we have transposed a number. I think what you have is a Joye 510 made by Joyetech and not a 501. My ecig is a m401 made by Smoore. They are both well thought of units and I may try a 510 at some point. Hey, if you kik the real cig habbit you will have pleanty of extra $$$ to spend on these toys.

If anyone wants to try a cheep disposable starter set they make a Q510 for about 10 bucks. Cigtech has them. I think this is not made by Joyetech but I am not sure. Anyway, it's cheep and works good I hear. It just won't last long.

510, right. Sorry. It's the cig style not the cigar model. The ones i got from Cig Techs have a little blackhawk logo on them which Chris said were exclusive to his line. It's not a Chi Blackhawks logo btw. It's funny, i'm in SC for a while and i didn't even bring it as smoking is pretty much still allowed everywhere but the ICU!

Missed your post somehow Jeepers. Yep, make a big enough order and the suppliers can customize their e-cigs. I bet that logo looks cool!

A new profession has evolved because of these things... an e-juice chef. All kindsa new recipes being developed. Some places are importing flavoring from Italy.

I have found some food flavors including... pizza. No anchovies, shoot! But they do have tuna. Not sure I want tuna on my pizza though.

Every kind of desert I could think of is being juiced. I ordered some Boston Cream Pie.  And some Black Cherries dipped in Chocolate.

And drink flavors... almost any drink you can think of is already being made. One e-juice place claims to have an open bar. I have not found Shiner Back beer yet though. You can actually put real booze in there. No buzz cause, like w/ cooking, the alcohol gets burned up. :~(

I did order some Cuban Cigar dipped in Brandy.

PapaJoe, I just wanted to thank you.

Info on e-smokes/e-cigs/PV's have been circling around to me every few months.  First a friend was using one (cheap truck-stop version), then your post here, and I'd seen one somewhere and was thinking about it, yet again.

The final straw was noticing a couple of guys from Deadliest Catch using them in the After The Catch special on their dad (who recently died).  After seeing the amount of vapor produced, I just decided to jump in.

So I'm the proud owner of a Joye eGo which I LOVE.  Part of the reason I love it?  After smoking a pack a day for the better part of 25 years, I quit - instantly - a week ago when the eGo was delivered.

My husband quit three days ago.  He's having more cravings than I, but not enough to even consider buying cigarettes.  Coming from two PAD marlboro smokers, that's pretty intense praise.

THANKS for bringing these back to my attention.  It took a while for all of those hints to finally hit me over the head, but I'm just completely stunned and amazed that I'm a non-smoker now.  (I'm shanagan over on the e-cigarette-forum.com, btw, see you there.)

I'm still interested in these for my roommate.

How long have all of you been using the Joye eGo?

The problem she was having was that the atomizers weren't lasting and either were the batteries.

She loved them but got disenchanted.

I'd like to get her started on them again as a gift....

                                              Which should I buy?

I want one that will last for her.

                                              Thanks!

My husband and I have been using them for a week.  My experience is that I'm in front of the computer all day, and use mine steadily throughout the day.  The battery on these easily lasts alll day for me - charge overnight and vape during my waking hours.  Our atomizers are new, so holding up beautifully, but I did buy a couple extra, I don't want to get caught when they do go.  From what I'm hearing, I should expect them to last about 3weeks/a month.  The backups I just bought were 3/$25 - each, that's about the price of a pack of cigarettes where I live.

Deals come and go, so expect to pay somewhere in the $60-70 range (with delivery) for an eGo.  Cignot has prettymuch the same ego kit I purchased elsewhere - it comes with two of everything so you have a backup if you're the only one using it.

I was hopin w/ this post that I might help someone here get off the analogs. Folks can get real confused w/ all this e-cig stuff. *&^%#@

Wow TXT! You made my... YEAR!!! So great that my post here helped you! You should be real proud of... yourself! Kiking this addiction is no easy task.

TXT, what juice are you using?

Yep, that "Deadlest Catch" show was BIG news for the vape folks. And, c ya shanagan at tha e-cig-forum.

Mar, what did she have that was not lasting? This stuff has some bad production runs. 401, 510, 901, 801?

Ego or Riva (ego clone) w/ 510 attys or cartos is real popular. I do not think she could go wrong w/ those.

I jumped up to a new version dse905 at 3.7v W/ 901 carts and 808 cartos. Not for newbes I think. I like mine though.

You honestly should be proud of yourself for helping to spread the word, for real.

I have a few juices from vaporbomb that are ok, but the one I can't stop raving about or using is Hypnotic Mist from freedomsmokeusa.  I got it in a 24mg, 70/30 mix and it is AMAZING. It's not tobacco, it's not sweet, it's not fruity - but it IS all of that at the same time.  Really amazing juice.  My husband, otoh, isn't a fan.  He's loving their version of RY4 flavor, though.

At night I'm all about one of those vaporbomb flavors, though - the pina colada.  I just placed another order with freedomsmokeusa for their version of pina colada, as well as a couple others.  I can tell it'll only be a matter of time before the food lover in me can't help but make my own stuff.

Oh, and as for quitting... it was almost too easy.  WHO would want to smoke once they figure out a juice/equipment combination that works for them, yk?  It's so much BETTER.

                                                        LOL, yep on the timing.

Thanks - I am just so stunned.  I mean, literally the day I got it, that was it, I was done with cigarettes.  I took one drag of my husband's the 1st day, and haven't wanted even as much as one more drag since then.

And yep... those analog cigs taste bad after vaping some good e-juice!

I am a freedomsmokeusa fan also. I will try that HM on my next order.

I got a good report back on my idea for "peanut butter cup w/ honey" on a FSUSA thread.

                                                          A new thing to do;
                                                          Become an e-juice chef

Or, a mad scientist... or both. :~)

                                                            Mad scientist sound good.  :)

Sharon's going to give it another go.

The type that didn't work for her was the Micro no. 7.

The atomizers were $35 each and they lasted a week or less.  Now you know why cigarettes were cheaper for her.

I think she's going to try the eGo with the 510 atomizer and cartridge.

I was emailing the company with questions for her and decided she'd better ask her own questions.

                                                            Thanks, everyone for your help!
