EVERYTHING you want to know about food!
While digging into today's Digest: Will Success Spoil Regional Food?
and subsequent searches inside that, I came across a book titled, "Hot Dog: A Global History" by Bruce Craig. Bruce Kraig, President, Greater Midwest Foodways Alliance. He has
a Ph.D. in History and Archaeology, Dr. Kraig is Professor Emeritus at Roosevelt University, Chicago and currently adjunct faculty at Kendall College. As an international recognized food historian, appearing in PBS food documentaries. He is an expert on hot dog history after a presentation at Oxford University, England.
Bruce is founding President of Culinary Historians of Chicago.
It turns out there is a whole series of books on the Global History of foods covering everything from Soup to Nuts. They're published in England but available thru Chicago Press. If you're interested in the history of pizza or hamburgers, pancakes or pie, (ATTN: Buffetbuster), then you can get a book to become an expert on the subject.
I'm ordering 3 books -A Global History of Hot Dogs, Ice Cream and Gin! http://www.press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/series/RB-EDIBLE.html
