After being raised in SoCal and two years in Japan...I did not feel the 5.9 here, although the local TV News is flashing 'reaction from the public' stories.

My aunt lives in Louisa near the epicenter, she said her place really was moving. Didnt do any structural damage to the house but the plaster on the walls will need a new skim coat to cover some new cracks. FCF Shake and Bake sounds good you making enough for the whole gang!

I read yesterday that the Democrats and Republicans were blaming each other for the quake, citing the "fault line" that runs from the White House to the Capitol.

BREAKINGNEWS: President Obama has just confirmed that the D.C. earthquake occurred on a rare and obscure fault-line, apparently known as "Bush's Fault." Obama also announced that the Secret Service continues an investigation of the quake's suspicious ties to the Tea Party. Others suspect however that it was caused by the founding fathers rolling over in their graves!

President Obama, being on vacation playing golf, asked VP Biden to visit the epicenter. Biden took the next plane to Orlando. Bart

Actually some houses near us collapsed. About 5 miles from here, I was 6 miles from the epicenter of the quake, they were 1 or less. I know someone who works with one of the ladies whose house collapsed The aftershocks have felt pretty dang strong too, and our house looked like it had been ransacked after the original. No cracks in the foundation though.
