East Coast Custard

The title is deceiving. This is a small chain, about 8 - 10, frozen custard shops around Cleveland, OH. I say around, because there are none in Cleveland itself, just in the suburbs, Mentor, Parma, etc. They claim to have custard as it was sold at Coney Island years ago. I'll say this, it's pretty darned good. I go there everytime I'm in the area. they also sell hot dogs, all beef dogs, footlongs. They're fine as well, but the custard is outstanding. They have an interesting website at www.eastcoastcustard.com Maybe wandering jew will want to open a franchise

I actually had the pleasure of visiting back in May when I interviewed for a promotion that I never got. I was driving around looking for a place to eat lunch, wasn't very hungry and stumbled upon the place. I never heard of it and discovered that it's a local chain and thought I would give it a shot. I had something very similar to a St. Louis style Concrete. It was good, but a Ted Drew's or Kopp's it's not.
