East Coast baseball trip

Having a reunion of sorts with old college friends. We are meeting in Baltimore, then to Philly, then NYC, then Boston, then D.C.  Largely doing the train travel deal. Hungover gourmet suggested this forum to ask about places to eat close to the ballparks besides the usual chain fare. Preferably, something well representing the area. Thanks.

In NYC will you be seeing the Mets or the Yankees? No need to leave the stadium at Citifield as the food there is better than the usual stadium fare. Shake Shack and Blue Smoke, the frites place and fish tacos are recommended from a recent visit. Good beer too.

For Philadelphia - Tony Luke's (39 E. Oregon Avenue) which is known for roasted pork sandwiches but does excellent cheesesteaks and Texas Tommy's too.  I'm guessing less than a mile from the stadium. 

Thanks for these suggestions. Leaving for the first leg today, D.C., on to Baltimore tomorrow. Bill, thanks for the help. The ideas above have my stomach grumbling will waiting for the inevitably delayed boarding call.

For DC, the whole Navy Yard area is still in the development stage and there's not much in the immediate area. The best you'll do within walking distance is Levi's Port Cafe, which serves barbecue and soul food and is up near Barrack's Row on 8th St SE near L St.

In DC's Nationals Park and behind third base (for a half smoke)...

what's a Texas Tommy?

Having grown up in Texas, I'm not familiar with a Texas Tommy. Texas Toast, yes, but not a tommy. 

I was just at Camden Yards in July and wrote about it here: http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/fb.ashx?m=610457  i95 is right about the closest, best Roadfood being Faidley's in Lexington Market; keep in mind they close at 5 every day, and you might want to take a cab.  The ballpark isn't that far from the Inner Harbor, and there were a few establishments along Pratt St. near the trade center that looked promising.  There are a ton of vendors across the street from the ballpark selling hot dogs, bottled water and soda, pretty much whatever you want, for real cheap, and you can take it inside.  Sounds like a great trip--have a nice time!

 
Tony Luke's Texas Tommy - a Texas Wiener (onions and Texas Wiener chili-like sauce) wrapped or covered in bacon, topped with shredded cheese or Whiz.

Off to a quick start. Thanks for the tips. Went to Lexington market and stopped by Faidley's for a lump crab cake. That thing was the best ever. I made the mistake of putting a little tartar sauce on it for the first bit, and found out that it was best with nothing else. Love how it is all crab meat and almost no filler. No sure how they keep those things from falling apart. Followed with a Berger's cookie. Which really isn't a cookie. More a chunk of fudge with a small wafer shoved into it. Talk about sugar rush!! 
 
In the evening we weren't in a bit of a rush and happened upon La Tavola in Little Italy. Had a squid ink pasta with crab and tomatoes. Nice version with in house made past that was cooked perfectly. Followed with a canoli at Vacarro's. Never been a fan of the canolli, but this was wonderful. 
 
Camden yard was a great venue and had a great game with A. Rod winning the game with a 3 run homer in the 9th (btw, I'm not a Yankees fan). Had a really nice spicy sausage at the game with grilled onion. 
 
Afterwards, went to Brick Oven Pizza in Fell's Point as suggested by a friend. It was okay. He especially wanted to have the dessert pizza which is basically chocolate on phyllo with raspberry jam, kiwi, banana. Not too big a fan. Would rather have another canolli. 
 
Now in Philly, after stopping at Chap's pit beef. That was a perfect sandwich and the side of french fries with gravy was decadent. Hope to swing by Tony Luke's tonight prior to the game. Even the gal at Chap's recommended it. Said to skip the whole Geno's and Pat's deal.
