Eastern Shore VA. MD.

We are making a road trip from Point Harbor NC to Northeast MD. going up 13. Will be staying in Northeast for two days. Where to eat?

We were recently in that area on the lower part of the eastern shore, and were given some suggestions.  
 
Sting Ray's in Cape Charles, VA is supposed to have good country ham on sweet potato biscuits.  We weren't there at breakfast time, so could not try the ham. 
 
The Exmore Diner in Exmore, VA is a classic old Diner, serving varius diner fare.
 
We loved the fried chicken at Peakey's in Princess Anne, MD.  Others have suggested the Smith Island cake there.  We weren't fans of the cake, but maybe we caught it at a bad time. 
 
We're a little more familiar with stuff toward the northern end of your trip.   "Steak & Main" on Main Street in North East, MD has good steaks (but not cheap) for dinner, and pit beef sandwiches at lunch are good.  
 
If you're into crabs (we're not), Woody's in North East is supposed to be good.   Pier One Diner in North East is very good for breakfast. 
 
The restaurant at the Chesapeake Inn and Marina in Chespaeke City, MD offers waterside dining along the Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) Canal.   One of the intersting things there is watching the ships go through the canal.  The canal is a major shortcut that connects the top of the Chesapeake Bay to the Delaware River/Delaware Bay.  Anyway, the Chesapeake Inn has a formal dining room upstairs (great Sunday Brunch), and they have informal dining on the outside patio (they call it the deck) next to the water.  There is usually live music, as well as a tiki bar.  There is also casual indoor dining downstairs.  We prefer the casual outdoor area, and they have various sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc.  The food is pretty good, but the biggest draw for us is the lively boating atmosphere that is almost always present there, as well as a party atmosphere in the evenings.    Chesapeake City is about 12 miles from North East.
 
We spend a lot of weekends up in the North East and Chesapeake City, MD area.  We keep our boat at a marina in North East.   Are you heading up tp North East to buy/sell or look at a boat?   There's not a lot of other reasons people head up there.

Here's some joints on # 13 to stop and get a cold drink. 
Sting-Ray’s Seafood Restaurant, the Eastern Shore Pottery, a Convenience store/Exxon Station, and an RV and boat storage facility are all located in Cape Center. It's not fine dining but the seafood is fresh, there's BBQ and steaks also. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are outstanding.
Eastville Inn serves outstanding lunch and dinner but they close on Monday/Tuesday. Go W 4/5 blocks on Willow Oak Road in Eastville, VA to Courthouse Road.
Exmore Diner has been around since 1954. It's located on Highway 13 and open for breakfast, lunch or dinner serving outstanding sandwiches, seafood and steaks.
Mallard's at the Wharf in Onancock, VA has outstanding BBQ, sandwiches, salads, fresh seafood and steaks for lunch and dinner. Take Highway 179 W in Onley and go a couple of miles to the Mallard's right on the waterfront in Onancock, VA on Market St. There's music entertainment on Sunday PM. Open daily.
Mallard's has a Sidewalk Cafe in Accomac, VA on Highway 13. It's open for lunch and serves nice salads, sandwiches and seafood.
The Inn and Garden Cafe is located on Market St. in Onancock, VA about a mile from Highway 13. They are open for dinner only and serve outstanding Eastern Shore cuisine in their dining room or their four season gazebo outdoors.
Flamenco is a European Restaurant in Onancock, VA open for dinner only and closed on Monday. They serve some of the best seafood on the Eastern Shore. It's in town on the right on N Street just before the waterfront.

Regardless of Hambone's use (or not) of your info, I found it valuable.  I occasionally take the kids to Chesapeake City to watch the boats and it is easy to run out of places to eat.  We've eaten at the Cheapeake Inn but not any of your other suggestions - but will.
The cool thing about the canal is that it is small (narrow) and some really big ships go through there.  While eating at the Inn one winter night, we noticed the water begin to move...and expected a boat....but none came until 10 minutes later.  The boat was just big enough (a tanker) that it was essentially pushing water WAYYYY out in front of it as it slowly pushed through. 
If in Chesapeake City and looking for something a little less formal than the Chesapeake Inn, I recommend the Bohemia Cafe & Bakery for breakfast and sandwiches in a casual diner-ish setting. 

 
Thanks Jaybo.  I forgot about the Bohemia Cafe in Chesapeake City.   We have been there for breakfast.   Very good.
