Hah to pigs n blankets.
Todays NYTimes had an interesting article on "fusion-Asian" food:

How about sausages with fortines inside?

In the Los Angeles area, a small chain of teriyaki bowl stands called "Yaki's" serves something simular. They wrap a hot dog and American cheese in an eggroll wrapper and deep-fry it. They serve it with a little cup of teriyaki sauce and 1,000 island dressing. They call it a "Bulldog."

I'm down for one of those egg roll hot dogs next time I'm in the city. I'm particularly fond of corn dogs, though no places in New Jersey serve a Great One to the best of my knowledge (correct me if I err). This seems like an interesting variation on a theme.

I've made these at home and they're a big hit, I throw a dab of cole slaw in with the dog and have hot mustard for dipping. Another variation I like is to roll the dog in a corn tortilla, deep fry it and serve with guacamole. Viola, "dogitto"!

The corn tortilla variation is called a Texas eggroll. Be sure to put Monterrey jack cheese in a cut down the middle of the dog. Sometimes I put a few of these together when making flautas pollo.
