Monday, Dec. 15th, 2008.....Day 3 in Tampa/St. Pete
I decide I want to go back to one of the WINGHOUSE'S to buy some SAUCES.
1st Stop; WINGHOUSE of Pinellas Park, halfway btwn Clearwater and St. Pete.
It's 12 noon, and they are real slow in there. I walk in to buy my sauces, and
I get ENCIRCLED by about 6 or 7 Winghouse girls.
So , I go for it, and get my "MONEY SHOT"
Ellen and the Winghouse Girls of Pinellas Park !!
Then, a tall blonde, Alexa, approaches me, and asks if I'll buy a Winghouse Girl calendar from her. I figure, why not?!?
This calls for another PIC, however! NOTE the appearance of TALL Alexa in this one . She said she was in last year's calendar, and on the playing cards.
And the hostess (in red) jumped in the pic; I actually liked her look the best..
I took out the calendar, and these 2 sauces, HOT and MEDIUM,
along with Michelbob's BBQ Sauce (been to Michelbob's BBQ in Ft. Myers in past)
And John A, I did NOT get my wing sauces CONFISCATED at the airport this time!
I flew Southwest , and went for the free check in bag....my sauces were safe!
(my ARCHIE MOORE wing sauce is in the back; purchased in my NJ Pathmark)
One more pic of these nice gals, then I'm back out in the messy Florida weather..
You know FLORIDA! It's raining one minute, then sunny the next!
I drive to the PIER in St. Pete... been there once before when I was like 14.
Totally different now; shops and restaurants, like the COLUMBIA ( perhaps next time, JOE ROGO)...........Here's ST. PETE PIER

More pretty creatures to look at...

Slow, RAINY day at the PIER; I bought a bunch of postcards and magnets to keep the merchants going, along with a double scoop of BLUE BELL ice cream in the food court. Merchants claim it's very slow right before X-mas.
Where was the SUN? So much for the "partly sunny" forecast...
I had quite a SCARE when I went back to look for my car.
I thought for SURE my rental car was STOLEN!
My first munch out stop of the day, TED PETERS in PASADENA(near St. Pete Beach

Ted Peters is known for their smoked fish, as you can see by the signs
And somehow (WHY?) the place got known for their burgers, too
I had heard the BURGER was OVERRATED at TED PETER'S...
I tried it, and I AGREE !
It's a PERFECT EXAMPLE of a burger I can make right at home on my frying pan!!
Even though their burger was nothing special, it was certainly nothing horrible, as the meat DID taste fresh...and I like the old time picnic tables, etc.
and the waitresses were cool....
I don't do seafood, guess I should've zoomed in for a pic of someone elses, huh?
Perhaps one of you fellow Roadfooders will add a SMOKED MULLET pic to my report!
After my uneventful burger, (but with great atmosphere), I noticed this DELI in Pasadena, right before I crossed the bridge into St. Pete...
THE SUMMER OF LOVE DELI, Pasadena, FL.. (on the right)
Drove up close to take a look; the little sign said "Featuring BOARS HEAD !!"
Just what I figured. Boars Head seems to be big down there.
another typical "slicer joint"...
"SUMMER OF LOVE"?!? The name sounds too cute to be the real thing...
I need a "Harvey's Deli", "Morty's Deli", sounds more succulent to me..
And this PSYCHODELIC Woodstock car is too GROOVY for a DELI !
ST PETE BEACH (Publix supermarket shopping center across street)
ST PETE BEACH
It was neat seeing these high school aged (?) kids gathered around the guitar.
entrance to St. Pete Beach municpal beach
MUCH more COMING!
SALT ROCK GRILL, RED MESA, ARCO ISIS, TOO JAY'S, ALESSI, etc
