Just south of Emmitsburg on Route 15 and in Thurmont is the famed...

Interestingly enough, I was just there with my ten-year-old daughter and for lunch
this past Friday. The more than 80-year-old place (located at 103 Frederick Road in
Thurmont -- see: http://www.cozyvillage.com/) has been mentioned numerous times
on this site and not only is a favorite of mine, it's lunch and dinner buffets are a child's
dream (never mind an adult's!) come true. And cheap, too, as Friday's lunch
was $ 7.99 for me and $ 5.99 for my heir.
Oh, I'm sure the place has its detractors ("it's a bus magnet..."; "they clearly use canned
green beans..." blah, blah, blah) and while I'm no fan of buffets in nearly any format, I've
always found the fare at the Cozy both homey and delicious. Friday's lunch offerings, alone,
included scrumptious fried chicken, baked beans, fresh rolls, corn fritters, mac & cheese, two
different soups and a choice of at least a dozen desserts (including some great pies).
Bottom-line: If you're looking for Q, by all means, go to Chubby's. Indeed, it
is very good. However if you're looking for more the seemingly disappearing
"Sunday supper," visit Camp David's neighbor and dine at the Cozy.
