    Outstanding picture!

I am so excited about Endeavour's arrival here.

I'm also torn as to where to go to see it.  My best bet would be near LAX but it could be crowded.

It's going to do a 1500 foot flyover of several spots in Los Angeles including Venice Beach.

That would be the best for me but what if it changes its path?

    I can't wait!

Edited to fix wear/where.  I was too excited.  I also fixed it's/its.  Duh

I was distressed to read how many lovely mature trees are being removed along it's path to it's final destination. Still not sure if the end justifies the means in this case.

The tree situation is a major bone of contention here.  I don't think the planting of 4 trees for every one cut down is an answer to killing perfectly beautiful and thriving trees.

They could have removed and replaced the wings in my opinion.  Wouldn't hurt it as it is never flying again.

They could have found a less convenient route, perhaps.??  Getting around in the Exposition Park area is not easy though.
Recently watched a video of the Chicago folks moving the U-505 out of Lake Michigan to it's home at the Museum of Science and Industry. It was just a short distances...but a huge project for 1940's engineering !

I could also see Endeavour from my front step of balcony, but I want a full, unobstructed view.

Think I'll be going to the beach.

I heard a story about some of the details of this move on NPR Tuesday morning. It's going to be an amazing sight to see it move through city streets but I can't believe at what expense this is.

I want to see that as well.  I love free shows.

I took pictures of Air Force I landing last year.  Doesn't matter who was on board... it was an awesome site.

    It was AWESOME!

For some reason I decided this morning that Santa Monica would have better or longer viewing than Venice Beach.  Thank Goodness!  It never flew over Venice Beach like planned.  The pilot flew wherever he wanted.

    My best picture:

    File of my pictures:

I saw it when we got back home when it circled over LAX and then when I was taking a friend to an eye doctor appointment I saw it in my rear view mirror....landing.

    It was wonderful.

SUZYQ,  A boat was pulling the parachute back and forth with two people hanging from it.  I'm betting they paid well for the ultimate position for their shuttle experience.  Made a great picture for me.

Greg, there wasn't a crowd at all.  What is your picture from?  El Segundo?  You took it from your TV?  Your TV picture has rounded corners?

Here's what it looked like where we were:

The glut of people were on the pier, not on the beach.

The most crowded area was along Imperial Highway.  El Segundo blocked the area off a day or two ago.  The people there got a great view of Endeavour landing and taxiing to the hanger.

A friend of mine that lives in Manhattan Beach watched from that location.  Intense crowd.

Wow--those are awesome pics!  I live near the SF Bay, so went down to the end of Marsh Road to Bayfront Park for a clear view as it headed to NASA Ames Research Center.  It was no where near as close as the pics you all got, but still very fun and exciting!!

    Wasn't it!

It wouldn't have mattered to me if it was wall to wall people.  It was a once in a lifetime event for me, something that can never be repeated.

San Francisco must have been beautiful.  I once watched the Blue Angels do a show while seated in front of Ghiradelli Square.

    Guess I like aircraft.

The local paper had an AP photo this morning of the paragliding pair in the shot with the aircraft carrying the shuttle.

I also thought it was news worthy.

I was hoping to get a picture of the pier in my pictures, but it just wasn't meant to be.

It was a Breaking News story and monopolized TV here.

The final trip on public streets was cool.  I chose not to see it there due to the crowds and parking situation.

My favorite shot was Endeavor and Randy's Big Doughnut in the same picture.

I'm very familiar with the streets it took and for some reason it was exciting seeing familiar businesses as it inched by them.
