Even sheep don't like it.

Sheep love bread products, and some commercial flocks have bakery waste as a major feed component. My sheep get stale bread, and left over waffles as a special treat.

My store was out of my usual brand of waffle mix (WalMart extra fluffy) so I got Hungry Jack extra fluffy for about twice the price. It is awful, and doesn't even smell good while cooking. I ate one and gave the rest to the sheep. They eagerly bit into them and then spit them out. Eventually they got nibbled away by the sheep and wild birds, but they were not a hit. This AM I again made WalMart brand, and the sheep really appreciated it.

Hungry Jack is made by Smuckers, one of the best respected food companies. Somebody must like Hungry Jack.

    What are left over waffles?

I use Carbon's Golden Malted the regular mix. It's excellent.
Tried their instant variety once and the results were almost perfect for stepping stones.

We don't have Pioneer in the northeast, so far as I know,  but I'll be on the lookout for it.

I bet the sheep would love homemade waffles...

    Makes about 10-12 waffles
    2 cups flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    3 tbsp sugar
    2 cups milk
    2 eggs, separated
    1 tbsp butter - melted
    Directions
In a large bowl whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt.
Separate the eggs. Mix the egg yolks with sugar, butter and milk and add to dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
Whip the egg whites and gently fold them into the yolks mixture.
Preheat your waffle iron and spray both surfaces with cooking spray. Pour about 1/3 cup batter onto one side of the iron and close it.
Bake until the iron's indicator light shows that cooking is done and the waffles are golden brown and crisp. It's best to serve them immediately with butter, maple syrup or honey and fruits.

I eat two waffles a year. I had the first of my biannual waffles two weeks ago.

Why would anyone ask sheep for their opinion! My Chickens give me all the input I need.
