Just wondering, what a reasonable distance is for an event and fees?
I was offered a spot at an event that is 200 miles away and they just wrote to inform me the fee is $750. The event is 3 days long. The estimated attendance is over 200,000 people. They do not allow vendors to carry the same items, so no vendor will have the same food.

Any thoughts. I don't mind driving, necessarily, just not sure if the fee is too high. I personally am having a hard time with that high of a fee.... but I am also new at this so I am not sure if that is reasonable for 3 days and that number of people expected.

Thanks :)

for the people count it seems fair. the vendor part is really fair as far as a menu goes. just check the guy out good and past that it's a crapshoot!!!!! if you want to see numbers that will roll your eyes back into your head try 200/per foot(and that is measured from the end of the trailer tongue to the end of any awnings in length and the width of the trailer plus any awnings in that direction) at most state fairs along with a percentage!!

Thats a good price if you do not have to pay a commission especially if you do not have other competition for the same product. We do an event that charges $600 then 25 percent of your gross sales. They use coupons so they keep you honest.

HOLY COW... I would have choked if someone told me those kind of numbers. With those events, how far do you drive?

I guess I am nervous, because I paid a fee for this past event I did and the estimated attendance was no where near what the expected/reported.

It was a 2 hour drive and by the time all is said and done I barely broke even.

So now I am very leery and cautious.

That particular even is local. It has hugh numbers year after year so you know what to expect. Promoters always exaggersate their attendance numbers. You will know which shows you want to do and not do after the 1st year. If weather plays a part and you do bad I would redo the event again. You have no control over weather and people do not come if it is raining.
