Great site, but he missed James Coney Island, a Houston hot dog tradition.

That is a great site! I wish he would travel thru Michigan though... Missing a few great stands on that list!

Well, if Holly is one of us and visits this forum, maybe someone can tell him to get cracking. According to the note below the home page link to the hot dog page, he hasn't updated the page since October 2004.

For example, as Uncle Vic correctly points out -- and as I emailed Holly sometime ago -- Holly needs to visit Michigan (where I'm from) and check out some of the spots there, most notably the Lafayette and American Coney Islands in downtown Detroit. (I believe I once advised Uncle Vic do do this, too.)

Assuming Vic is from Michigan, he will be interested to know that, today, I received my mail order shipment of 24 Koegel Vienna hot dogs and 10 lbs. of Detroit-style Coney Island mix. With my handy meat cleaver, I divided the blocks of mix into a zillion smaller chucnks, wrapped them in plastic bags and tin foil (to prevent freezer burn) and now I'm set for the foreseeable future. Yum!

Right off the bat, this Holly site is tainted for me, as he gushes over Pink's and the Pink's chili dog, hands down the worst tasting lumpen gobbet of inedible crap I've ever thrown in the trash. YMMV.

Thanks for posting the WQED link again... I've been waiting for them to put the Hot Dog program on DVD, and it's now there!
