FINALLY! Great Pizza in New Mexico

Dion's Pizzeria just opened 2 weeks ago in Las Cruces, and I have to report in here to give this place a plug, in case anyone is ever in this area of the country, and is longing for quality pizza, the way it is made back in New Jersey. This is their fourth location, they have three in Albuquerque, Los Lunas and Rio Rancho (suburbs of Albuquerque). I have ordered pepporini twice, and the 10 inch gourmet Kansas City pie, which is very thin crust. We'll probably get another flavor this Friday. For someone who has been here nearly a year, without access to great pizza, I felt I had to chime in on this place.

If it's like the Dion's in Albuquerque, it might be closer to the truth to say "Dion's: the best of a really bad lot." Honestly, I have no idea why a college town like Albuquerque had such uniformly awful pizza in the years I lived there.

Upper Crust Pizza in Santa Fe is an award winner - try the whole wheat crust. Restaurant is located around the corner from "The Oldest House in America"!

Il Vicino is also a good pizza restaurant. Located near Downtown SF.
