FYI Postage rates change May 14th

Postage rates change May 14th. $.41 to carry a 1oz first class letter. Also, shape now matters. A 2oz letter will not cost the same as a 2oz large envelope or 2oz package. 2oz letter will actually cost less than it did before the rate change. Visit usps.com for more details. Just wanted to let you know before your letters went postage due. I know I've left myself open for dart throwing. But thought you'd like to be reminded since the media had it going into effect on April 14th.

Are the "forever" first class stamps going on sale before the 14th? And thanks for the update. I thought it was a little longer,

6star, you are correct. Be sure & ask for Forevers. Just asking for the new stamp will get you the regular 41's.

Thanks for the heads-up. This change doesn't seem to be as well publicized as previous ones. I do like that they held off changing it until just AFTER all the Mother's Day cards get mailed!

I was thinking of the country as a whole, not just me personally. But, since you asked, I'm mailing to the following: 1 Mom, 1 MIL, 1 Grandma-in-law, 1 aunt, 1 cousin, & a special friend who just had child #9. It's never a bad time to let someone know you are thinking of her and think she is a good mom, even if she's not your mom.
