Facebook "Stoned to Death for doing this to a girl"

These idiots are trying anything to trick people into clicking things they wouldnt otherwise! A new scam making its way around Facebook is hoping to lure victims by tapping into two of their more primal instincts " anger and lust". Researcher at the security firm Sophos have noticed Facebook wall posts with the message "This American GUY must be Stoned to [link=mailto:De@th]Death[/link] for doing this to a GIRL!!!" Beneath this impassioned plea is a link beginning with [more] http://www.securitynewsdaily.com/facebook-scam-uses-lust-anger-to-lure-victims-0369 BEFORE YOU GOTO THAT PAGE ABOVE PLEASE EITHER DISABLE SCRIPTS OR ADD THIS TO YOUR CONTENT FILTER (THE PAGE POPS A CHROME DOWNLOAD SCREEN IN YOUR FACE (NO WAY TO EXIT W/O CLOSING THE TAB)) Adding http://ad* to your filter rules blocks it (IF YOU CANT DISABLE SCRIPTS) Why do so many people keep using this crap site??

Are you saying Facebook or Security News Daily is a crap site? And why would you post a link to a page that's going to screw with our computers?

I call it @ssbook I always said this was going to be trouble from the start. why anyone would put their personal things on a website like that besides promoting themselves or their services, ie; a band or an act, for financial gain is beyond me.

You get the same kind of stuff in your personal e-mail account. Does that mean you should forsake Internet communications all together?

And those who don't like it are free not to participate. That is the beauty of the world we live in. But much like anything else, just because YOU don't like it does not mean I am not allowed to like it. In other words...I won't tell you what to do if you don't tell me what to do, and we'll both be happy. It affects me not in the least if you don't Facebook, nor should it affect you that I do.

I have reported the original post (#1) to the moderators for review. At first, I didn't understand what Dude111 was trying to say. But my virus protection is supposed to be good (I feel like I am paying protection money for it) so thought I would risk it and see what Dude111 was trying to say. That securitynewsdaily site link given by Dude111 is the one that generates a (I think) Adobe Flash popup with no visible way to get out of it. Actually, if you click outside of the box (in the gray area) the pop-up goes away. A "Dude111" (don't know if it is the same as our Dude111) also posted here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25235512-Facebook-q-Stoned-to-De-th-for-doing-this-to-a-girlq The securitynewsdaily writer has a problem: he can't rewrite. What he did was rip off this story: http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2010/12/22/american-guy-must-be-stoned-to-death-facebook-survey-scam-spreads-quickly/ Graham Cluley's original article makes sense. I really think someone should remove the link in post #1 from this thread. Maybe even lock this thread.
