Slick, Most of the trees in Central Jersey have already shed. Now it's all in the streets and we anxiously await pickup. You may want to travel farther South. I know New England has websites that tell you which time is peak in what region. I don't know if there's some similar service for points South of here. The Bear

I am not aware of any areas of the country where "fall colors" still exist.

The Ohio River Valley is pretty much 'winter-bare'.

"Winter-bare".....sounds cold. Sounds like something the oil companies like: "JB, if everything gets winter bare real fast, we'll make a fortune....a fortune, I tell you. And it'll be ours, ours, all ours, I tell you!"

Actually it was 58 today for a high, but another cold wave will pass thru over the mid-week with temps peaking in the upper 30's. If there is anything good to say about the loss of the leaves, at least now we can see a bit better on some of the narrow farm roads in this area. Bare branches do increase the "round curves visibility" for us.

Yesterday as the, rainy skies, cleared, a shaft of sunlight lit a neighbors tree, its orangy yellow foliage a sharp contrast to the surrounding green cypress. Wild potatoe vines twist through the trees like a natural gold garland. Oh yes fall has stuck her frosty head into north east florida.

There are no fall colors left in East Tennessee. There were a few left in lower Alabama when I was there last week but my guess is that they are gone. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Thanks! Pretty much what I figured, but had to ask. Looks like we'll be headed across Tennessee, then down to Georgia and back through the lower states. Hope we can do it all in 4 days.

No fall color left in Northern Michigan. It was pretty much over and done with before we got that foot of snow last week!

The National Weather Service just put out a weather Advisory that Extreme Southwestern Michigan and North Central Indiana could get more than a foot of snow between Midnight Tuesday Morning and Friday Morning! This would include South Bend, Mishawka, Laporte, Elkhart, Michigan City and surronding areas in Indiana. It will also cover Berrien County, Cass County and Van Buren County in Michigan. So the few leaves that are left on trees will be gone by Friday Morning

RE- Travel this holiday week..... On the good side I filled up for $1.97 / gallon today. That's the first time the price dipped below $2.00 a gallon since whenever. On the bad side the temp is falling and the projections for the next couple of days are for bad weather over almost all of the Eastern U S A . So I will stay home, Pour a RedNeck Sour or two (Bourbon and Mountain Dew) and enjoy the Fall Colors by staring at my computer monitor. (Happy Thanksgiving to All.) This photo was taken by my child-bride out the truck window on October 19th,2005, when there still was beautiful color in Northern Michigan and Wisconsin. Slick I hope next year you have better luck.

Of course the only colors involved are green-->brown. Since it's been a warm autumn (79 degrees right now at 3:30 PM), my roses, the Autumn and Russian Sages, lantana and even the Mexican Bird of Paradise are still blooming--lots of color there, though. Oh, and "Fall colors" here generally means a bright red chili pepper ristra and those are available.

Thanks, Al. We were lucky a few years back when we made a quick trip to Ohio. We caught the colors on our way home in KY and TN. Much prettier there than here. Our fall colors are yellow and brown.

FINALLY finished raking the cussed leaves this afternoon. It was a beautiful day in NE CT,with the temp about 58. Heavy rain tonite, and then COLD the rest of the week with some SNOW maybe on Thanksgiving. Colors here this year not as good as usual, and am glad to be through with the raking. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

A few leaves left in CT, but they will be gone with tonights rain coming in. The Weather Channel weathersite always has foilage updates. But the seashore can be nice along the Northeast this time of year. Deserted, and the tourist stressed locals are more friendly as well as the prices. Great deals on Inns and hotels. Restaraunts lower prices to attract the locals or close for the season soon. Good luck

We found some beautiful colors in Central and Southern Arkansas. We had initially wanted to travel around a few states, but ended up never leaving Western Arkansas. Wonderful trip, though.

Any news of fall colors in northern Michigan? I have tomorrow off and we planned on leaf looking this weekend. I know it'll be crappy weather, but it'll be nice to get away for a day or two. Where are the prettiest colors right now?
