"Pseudo Fame" can, sometimes, go to people's heads. Sometimes people think they are more important than what they are.

Good for you {and McDuff}!!!

Although he may never know that your most fabulous dog peed on the wheel of his Harley, at least your dog did not pee on his sandwich.

It is called restraint, on your part {and McDuff's}.

There is something to be said about RouxDog's earlier comment~~ that ordinary people are the most extraordinary people you will ever meet in your life.

I attended a tribute to him at USC in early December. Anyone know?

Tommy Johnson is(was) considered by anyone in the Motion Picture Industry as well as the music industry as the best Tuba Player the world has ever known. He died in October at age 71.

He was the shark in Jaws, the space ship in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and first seat in thousands of movie scores during his lifetime.

Everyone who knew him thought the world of him, and had a reputation for being a down to earth, fun-loving man.

The tribute I attended at USC culminated in a musical score played by no less than 99 tuba players on one stage, many past and present students who flew in from all over the world to pay their respects to Tommy Johnson.

Learn more about this famous man most have never heard of, but heard a lot:

He was the father of a very good friend of mine, and I only wish I would have gotten the chance to know him better. Fortunately, he did write his memoirs, and one day maybe we will get to read them.

When I managed the OG in Florence, KY back in the early 90's, we had a menu that we kept in the managers office safe. Any time anyone famous came in we would discreetly ask for them to sign the menu.

So let me set the scene, late on a saturday evening,4 VERY large muscular men and this dude in a cowboy hat comes walking in. The Hostess recognized them so she set them off to one of the smaller rooms away from the rest of the crowd.

The server's name was Rodney, he came in and asked if he could take the menu out to the table, that they were 4 of the Cincinnati Bengals players eating there.

I took the menu out and watched as Rodney approached the group of 5 men. He proceded to get the 4 lineman's autograph's, and turned to leave the room. This is when the dude in the cowboy hat said, "hey wouldn't you like for me to sign that too??"

Rodney as polite as he could, asked "Why?? Are you somebody important too?"

At that point I wanted to crawl under one of the tables, but the 4 Lineman started laughing so hard and slapping the cowboy hat dude, on the back!

The dude in the hat turned out to be David Klingler, the Bengals #1 Draft Pick that year and starting quarterback.

Needless to say i had to sneak into the freezer (sound proof) and die laughing!!!

Well, when I was the America Online forum leader for the Macintosh Graphics Forum in the early 90s a guy emailed me and wanted to set up a library of art created by music on the Mac. I thought he was nuts and blew him off. He was Todd Rundgren. I was already a fossil and did not know much about the music scene. DUMB! I later made amends and met him in San Francisco at a MacWorld Expo party.

I met Joe DiMaggio about 15 years ago. They had an all star game in D.C., which he attended. A big white Caddy pulled up next us at a light after the game and there he was. He signed an autograph for us before the light changed. I thought he was nice.

I had the opportunity to cook for President Ford

I met Ronald Reagan while he was President

David Klingler - Has been Cincy Bengals QB

Pete Rose... With a roll of hundreds that would choke a horse, at the horse races

Johnny Bench, he came to our school as a kid to do some sort of presentation

Sammy Kershaw I gave him a cold beer after his performance at Carb Day in INDY, then when he got back up on stage he pointed me out and said "that guy has got the coldest beer here" I had a line the rest of the day

Tony Siragusa - Still sends a Christmas Card each yr, I met him during FB training camp during the 1990 season

Jeff George - Met him during his rookie training camp, Got him to sign a football, I then traded for 2 complete sets of early 70's Topps BB cards.

Julie Roberts (The country singer) I chauffered her and her crew around while they were getting ready for a concert

Billy Currington Chauffered around before a concert (Went to MCD got a big mac and fries)

Bill & Gloria Gaither - I went to school with their son Benji, THEIR HOUSE IS AWESOME!!

Sandi Patti - I accidentally insulted her on the air of the radio station i was working for, I got suspended from the air for 3 weeks, and on my first week back the door light goes off, I look out and there is a plant, I opened the door and there was Sandi Patti.

(My Comm Prof said never to announce a song and then back announce a song...
"That was a red cow and now a blue cow...that was a blue cow and now a green cow..."

While I signed on the station and at 5am i thought NO was listening to me, so I came out of a song by saying "that was a green cow and now a blue cow on WQME".... it took less than 15 seconds for the switch board to fill up with VERY PISSED OFF listeners!

I was relieved from duty by the station manager as soon as he got to the station. Ms Patti had given $$$$$$$ to help get WQME up and running.)

Cory Edwards - creator of the movie "Hoodwinked" was a class mate of mine.

Jim Davis - I worked with him on getting some Garfield stuff for the Indiana Jaycees.

Angus Young - Met him at The Precinct in Cincy, then saw him in concert later that night.

Tom Browning - Reds perfect pitcher, ate at the OG right before he got busted for pot poss.

Grandpa Walton - He came to town aboard the Delta Queen, sat on the river bank, played some banjo and sang to the crowd that had gathered while the filled the boat with water.

Lewis Crosley - Was a family friend (he was partners with his more famous brother Powell, together they owned the Cincinnati Reds, Built Crosley field, Crosley automobiles, Crosley radios, pioneered in broadcasting WLW & WLWT in cincinnati)

I can't think of anymore, I will have to look back through my pix and stuff

I used to run a deli in London. Occasionally famous people would come in. John McEnroe was one. He bought Jiffypop and Jacqueline Bisset, who it has to be said, wasn't very gracious. She asked for her meat to be cut paper thin and complained when it wasn't to her liking. Said "It wasn't like this in Paris"!!!!!!!!!!!

I know how much the popcorn usually sells for, but I am curious as to how much you charged Mr. McEnroe when he bought Jacqueline Bisset. Actually, I didn't even know that she was for sale.

This has to be one of those life imitates art moments, in regards to Bisset. She was in one of my favorite Truffaut films "Day for Night," wherein she portrayed a pampered, neurotic actress obsessed with picky demands...one scene in particular stood out for me. She was sobbing in her dressing room, telling the director that she would not do her scene unless she had fresh butter from Normandy delivered to her room. They were apparently filming far from Normandy, so a couple of haggard assistants had to run around to various places to purchase regular butter and "mold" it so it looked like artisanal butter from Normandy! The movie is well worth a look.

I shopped along side of River Phoenix once, sat behind him at a paul mccartney concert, and saw his band play. I never talked to him, because he seemed stoned most of the time. I probably have breathed him in, since his ashes were scattered down the road from my place.

Shopped next to Tom Petty at a natural foods store. He bought two avacados.

My husband works for Stan Lynch, the drummer from tom petty and the heartbreakers.

Met Lots of people from Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel at conventions.

I was told by Piers Anthony (the author of the Xanth series) that I was very ethereal.

Met Norman Schwarzkopf at the mall In Clearwater, he was very tall.
