Fat Man Walking-West Alexander PA

I was reading the journal of Steve Vaught-self titled "Fat Man Walking", who started walking from Oceanside, CA to NYC, NY last April to lose weight.
I dont know if you have read or heard about him, but he is still walking with a goal of 303 miles to go.
I couldnt do it, for sure, and he started off weighing 410 pounds!

The following is an excerpt from a few days ago regarding some roadfood...
West Alexander, PA got an endorsement from the "Fat Man Walking", whatever that means..

"Finally, after the rain calmed down for a bit we went to a great little diner called “The Liberty Street Cafe. I have never openly endorsed a place before but I am going to say that if you are traveling along I 70 in West Alexander, PA then take the time to stop there. Exit 1 and follow the signs to US 40. The food and the people are well worth the trip. Not on any map but it really should be. Tell Kristen and the gang “hi” for me."

Maybe I should have put this in the where do I eat forum..

Ya, I've been following it for the last several months. But looking at the before and current pics, logging all them miles has not done much for him... Granted his lungs and heart are probably happier now.. But there is another thread here about his venture..

Per the site, he's lost about 120 pounds. But from what I've read in his blog this is one SERIOUSLY messed-up individual--weight is the least of his problems. I hope he finds peace.

    Isn't that the truth.
I also wondered why he hasn't lost more weight.
Must be all that wonderful roadfood homecooking that he has gotten along the way.
I had just wanted to see if anyone out that had heard of or been to the restaurant that he so glowingly mentioned in Pennyslvania.
I think we have a few members that are near there.

I remember hearing the story on the news, and I felt bad for the guy... although at the rate I'm going, it could be "the girl whose hips keep getting bigger" walking...

Hey, how about a "roadfood.com walk"?!? Naw, it would be self-defeating........we would find too many roadside gems to eat at!!

(I always joke and say that the best way for me to lose weight is if I'm on a deserted island for a couple of months)
