"Pat's Ho-Made", or "Sweet Baby Ray's" I think we've discussed this before Sir but not for certain.

Other than my own, I love Sheeley's mustard vinegar sauce. Spiced perfectly. Most folks like tomato based sauces, including me, but for a change of pace, this is great Q sauce. They ship.

How cool is that!? I didn't think it was outside of my area. The only place I see it is in Publix. I often wonder if one day it'll disappear. I hope not, it's my first choice in the grocery store. I buy "Sweet Baby Ray's" when Publix has it buy 1 get 1.

Head Country is my favorite all purpose sauce. It's hands down the best on chicken.

I was brought up on Open Pit BBQ sauce, so I'm going to say Open Pit is my favorite.

Sweet Baby Ray's is pretty decent. Actually, this may sound odd, but Western dressing works with a little red pepper flakes thrown in.

Pretty much any sauce that is not too thin, or too thick is going to be agreeable to me.

Thick can be good. I do agree with the bone. I've never enjoyed boneless BBQ. If it slides right off the bone without too much of a fight that's good stuff.

In Texas, good BBQ doesn't usually need the stuff. But, it's really needed on BBQ that doesn't live up to central Texas BBQ standards.

I generally agree with Twinwillow, though I occasionally use a sauce for dipping. In that event, I like Calhoun's or Sticky Fingers Tennessee Whiskey Sauce. But I also love a good vinegar sauce with just spices in the vinegar. Make me pucker-up just thinking about it.

I too like Mauls for a Pork Steak or some chicken. If I'm smokin' Butts, Ribs or Brisket..the meat gets rubbed and the sauce is on the side.

We buy Roadhouse Bar-B-Que sauce because it is available at our nearest grocery store and BuddyRoadhouse is a regular here on Roadfood.com. That, and it is pretty damn good. Several varieties. We usually settle on Original.

D'oh! Apparently, there's more than one Calhoun's sauce. I'm referring to the one based in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Big Kahuna Kooks I too grew up with Open Pit, but its hard to find in FL....is it a regional thing? Well, Open Pit BBQ sauce originated in Detroit. I grew up in Chicago, so it's probably mostly distributed in the Midwest. I now live in northern Virginia, and cannot find it in all the grocery stores. I believe Giant Foods carries the Open Pit brand. Also, Open Pit BBQ sauce is available through Amazon.com.

In my neck of the woods, Open Pit is the cheapest (almost generic) brand around. . . they practically give it away with every meat purchase....maybe there's a reason for that...

I personally don't care for it, it always had like a metallic taste to me. Last time I had Kraft, same thing.
