Favorite Bagel Sandwich ?

Bemember the Bagel craze, I remember going to the bagel bakery for a toasted bagel and swiss cheese.

I also used to like the toasted bagel, sliced ham, and cheese, the melted cheese and hot ham were a great afternoon snack.

What are your favorite bagel sandwiches ?

We have "Bagel Land" that does a pretty good steak and cheese, a tuna salad, chicken salad, etc, breakfast bagels also. I like them all.

    Absolutely!

Also, everyone should be aware that unless your bagels are made with high gluten flour, and are boiled prior to baking, then they are not really bagels. I have, unfortunately, sampled some mighty poor bagels (including, of course, the junk that Dunkin' Donuts sells), and I can tell you that, to an aficianado of the classic bagel, much of what is sold in the hinterlands is not really a bagel. Instead, most of what is sold outside of NYC and a few other fortunate locales is actually sort of a "Wonderbread" version of the real thing.

Don't know if these are the same as you can get but they seem to be made the right way.

First choice: Untoasted plain or sesame bagel with nova salmon, cream cheese, tomato, red onion. Second choice: Pork roll, fried egg and cheese on a sesame or pumpernickel bagel.

I agree with the poster who commented that not all bagels are really bagels. The mushy ones are like Wonder Bread rolls...no relation to a crusty, chewy bagel. I saw a Rachel Ray piece about Montreal the other day...their bagels looked very good. Boiled first, then baked. H & H in NYC and many of the bagel shops in NJ are very good.
